Overdue and undecided!

Hi all

DH and I still can't decide on a name for our little girl but have narrowed it down to two options. Would appreciate thoughts!

1. Isla Naomi

I know Isla is quite popular in UK. we are British but live overseas where it isn't as popular. Regardless, I have always loved the name. Also I'm Scottish and I like the connection to home/ her heritage.

1. Naomi Rose

DH likes Naomi a lot. I was meh but I've come around to it the more ive thought about it. Rose was my amazing grandmother's name.

I thought I'd have Rose as a middle name in any case but then thought that if we picked Isla it would be nice to still use DH's top choice as mn but also I worried that Isla Rose lacked some impact.

Also, our surname ends in a 'ier' sound. I don't want to out myself as it's quite unusual but think rhymes with 'croupier'. Can't decide if that's a bit sing-songy with Isla or if it actually sounds good!!

I love Naomi and both names listed are very pretty so sorry I'm undecided! But I wanted to say my first name and surname have the same ending, only the first syllables are different and it's never been a problem

I think Naomi Rose flows better than Isla Naomi both are lovely though

Well seeing as you are Scottish I would definitely say go for Isla. It's a beautiful name. Why not use Isla Rose.
Thinking way way way way ahead here but, Just keep your FX her future DH husband's name is not Mann.

Isla Naomi Rose. Why can you not have all three? That is what we did with both of ours. Sets them apart from others!

Both are nice names. Naomi is a bit more unusual as Isla was top 10 in UK last year but I don't think that matters of you like it.
With Naomi I prefer it pronounced Nay-omi rather than Niy-omi. Have heard both though.

Isla is a beautiful name! Why not use Isla Naomi Rose, that way you're both happy and her first name will be one you have always adored rather than one you had to come around to :)

Thank you all! A mixture of responses but I am so happy that people like both names and no one thinks the surname will be a problem. The three together do work, was just worried it was a bit fussy. We have decided to wait until she appears and make a final decision when we meet her... hopefully very soon as I am more than ready now!!

Naomi Rose. I'm biased as this is my daughter's name! It flows beautifully and I love how it's not a made-up, unheard of name, but it's also uncommon. I've never met another.

Only issue has been pronunciation. We say Nay-OH-me, but she often is called Ni-OH-me or even NAY-a-me by others. If this would bother you a lot then perhaps reconsider. I haven't once regretted our choice though.

FWIW, unless you are not planning to have more DC, I would not use Naomi as the middle name if you choose Isla because you might want to "keep" it for DD2.

I second Twintum, keep one of your favourites for possible second dd. Isla and Naomi can be sisters of the future!
