Baby names

When did you first start thinking of baby names for your children?

I first started thinking of baby names since I turned about 15!! I always knew I wanted children and often would think of baby names and have always had a few in mind. What about you ladies??

I've always liked phoebe, luna or fleur for a girl and asa or jae for a boy.

As a child! But my taste in names was awful. If I'd been a teenage mum, I probably would have called the baby Chloe, or something.

Mama out of interest have you got children now and what are there names? Or names do you like if you don't have children?

I do have a son, but I would rather not say his name on here as it's unusual and would out me.

I think I was at least halfway through my pregnancy before I gave his name more than a passing thought.

So glad I didn't have a baby at 15 yrs old as it would have been called Jade (totally not my style now)!

As a child. My tastes in names have changed a lot since then, though. My top picks for boy's names when I was about 12 were River and Levi.
DS1 & DS2's actual names are completely different Wink

Do and I discussed a name 20 years before we actually had a child. He went back on it when we had a real life baby to name. I will never forgive him!

When I was about 8. My taste in boys names didn't change and DS has the name I always loved. My favourite girls names changed continually, depending on my current favourite book and DD has a name I hadn't considered till I was pregnant with her.

As a kid i wanted Mitchell for a boy and Jordan for a girl Blush
In all seriousness though i chose DD1s name when i was 15, although no actual plans to have kids i knew if i had a daughter she would have the name she does.

Oh no, the idea of naming babies, or ever entertaining idea of having babies in my childhood, or teens, would have been repellent to me. My dolls and toys, and pets, all had very stupid names, though, so who knows what I'd have named a human child.

At 7 I wanted twins called Catherine and Caroline. Went on to meet the most horrid woman called Caroline so glad I didn't use them!
