Emma Claire works, Claire Emma not so much.

Maybe go with a more flowery middle name to balance the simple (and v nice) first names?

Emma Madeleine
Emma Victoria
Emma Juliet

Claire Penelope
Claire Isabella
Claire Elizabeth

(Should say I've got a rhotic Scottish accent, so some of the Claire suggestions might run together a bit in English accents - they don't in mine, still like them though!)

Much depends on the surname. Need a clue as to how it sounds.

My middle name is Louise. Claire Louise was very very popular in the 70s. However, the two names to flow together easily.

I also think it needs at least two syllables

Thanks for all the suggestions there's quite a few I hadn't thought of. I would put them together but we're expecting twins Grin . our surname is one syllable so I think we can get away with two or even three syllables in the message middle.

Emma Katherine
Clare Madeleine

Or Clare Seraphina
And Emma Cordelia if you wanted slightly bolder middles?

Report
littlejohnnydory · 21/07/2015 10:23

I would go for a longer, more unusual middle name with Claire or Emma personally.

Claire Genevive
Claire Rosamund
Claire Rosanna
Claire Anastasia
Claire Ottilie
Claire Aurelie
Claire Dorothea
Claire Amabel

Emma Cordelia
Emma Rosamund
Emma Colette
Emma Isabella
Emma Florence
Emma Valentina

Emma is a gorgeous name but far harder to find a middle name for than Claire. I included Isabella and Florence even though they're quite popular because they sound lovely!
