Fallon - boy or girl?

Currently 17 weeks with number 2 and so far not really getting anywhere with names for boys or girls. Came across Fallon listed in a book under girls names and we both love it. For a boy.

To me it sounds quite masculine but google definitely seems to have it in the girls camp.

For the record we don't have any plans to find out the sex so trying to chose names for a boy and a girl. Fallon is so far the only name we both love, but if we have a girl we wouldn't use it.

Jimmy Fallon is a US TV show host (like Jonathon Ross I guess) so I'd think masculine.
Even though it's a surname that's the connection I make

I have only heard of girls with the name and there is a character in the archers with the name.

If you have found no evidence of it as a boys name I would be wary

There was a girl called Fallon at my secondary school, as far as I know, she was named after a character in Dynasty or Dallas or similar. I see it as a girl's name.

It's a female name in The Archers!

A girls name. I think it's pretty

I think a lot of people wouldn't think it that strange to meet a girl called Fallon, because of Fallon Carrington Colby in Dynasty.

Fallon in the Archers was named after Fallon in Dynasty. Anyone who was watching TV in the 80s will assume it's a girl.

Just to add - if I heard a boy being called gallon I would probably think it as odd as him being called Sarah or Joanna.

Family member called Fallon is female. Wish I had used it for one of mine. Love it.

Immediately think of Dynasty, and not a particularly great name.

I know one Fallon - female! I don't think it sounds that masculine really, sorry. What about Aaron, that sounds similar... ish?

I'm devestated,i was hoping to at least get some unisex responses. I dont listen to the archers and too young for dynesty so my only reference was Jimmy Fallon, who I love.

When I was pregnant with my first, whos Isla, our top pick for a boy with Lochlan. But apparently a new character is the next series of Games of Thrones will be called Lochlan and as i'm one of the 5 people in the world that hates that programme it's now firmly off my list.

Meh - I wouldn't worry about GoT - 5 years down the line and no one will remember an it is a well established name.

Is it the 'f' or the 'll' sound you like?

Am really sorry to be difficult, but the correct spelling is Lachlan or Lauchlan (unless you are in Ireland, where it can be Lochlainn). In all places, it is usually pronounced Lochlinn/Lochlunn.
