I have two children Charlie and Tilly, and TTC baby number 3.
After two miscarriages in the last 7 months, I want to choose a name with a special meaning. I went to the GP, and she said the most beautiful and reassuring words; That there was a little star waiting for me to choose them to be my baby. So with these words I wanted the baby to mean star.
We are OK for boys names, but we struggle for girls names.
My name also means star so I thought this would also be a lovely connection
My and my husband like the name Seren.

Do you like it with my other children's names?
Does it matter if they don't go well together?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst Sat 18-Jul-15 12:45:27

I think Seren is lovely

The only ones I can think of are Stella and Gaia, which both go with your other children's names I think.

CultureSucksDownWords Sat 18-Jul-15 12:54:42

Thinking of Stella, what about Estellle/Estella or other variants?

Maya15 Sat 18-Jul-15 12:58:49

I prefer Stella. Luna is also nice (means moon).
Congrats and all the best for your pregnancy. star

Seren is lovely.

Suraya - but I don't think it goes with your other DC's names
Astra
Esther
Estelle
Vega - means falling star in Arabic
Hetty

Celeste could also work but I think Stella works best with your daughters's names.

I love Seren and Stella.
Also in keeping with the celestial theme, I think Sunny would go well with your other dc's names. Or, I know of a little Spanish girl named Sol - although here people might think of the lager smile it's very pretty though IMO.

TinyManticore Sat 18-Jul-15 13:07:52

I used to know someone named Astra but you might be put off by the car association. Seren is lovely smile

I know a little girl called Steli through my work; I don't know what it means though?

Lyra, a constellation rather than a star?

I think it sounds like Liar, personally, but I know people who love it.

Soleil is lovely.

Sophronia Sat 18-Jul-15 13:21:43

Steren (Cornish version of Seren)
Starla
Estelle/Estella/Estrella
Danica (means "morning star")
Sitara (means "star" in Hindi)
Astraea/Astraia
Esther
Stella
Tara (means "star" in Sanskrit)

OnlyLovers Sat 18-Jul-15 13:25:07

How do you say Seren/Steren? They look lovely written down but I don't know how they sound.

I love Astrid.

Also Sitara and Lyra. And Asta and Hesper.

florascotia Sat 18-Jul-15 15:34:48

Venus (morning star, as well as a planet)

Cassiopeia, Andromeda, Carina, Callisto (all constellations)

Maristela 'star of the sea' (ie the Virgin Mary, but Maris is used as a girl's name, as well.)

Nova (bright new star)

Bellatrix (a star in Orion constellation; means female warrior)

Aurora?

Sophronia Sat 18-Jul-15 16:10:53

Seren is 'seh-ren' and Steren 'steh-ren'

CakeRattleandRoll Sat 18-Jul-15 17:12:53

Seren is lovely. It's a bit different from your other DC, but I really don't think that is an issue. The one thing all 3 names have in common is that you love them, and that is all that matters.

OnlyLovers Sat 18-Jul-15 17:52:44

Thanks, Sophronia.

My parents called our DD "little star" when she was but a flickering pixel. We used Seren in her name. My mum cried. smile

villainousbroodmare Sat 18-Jul-15 18:48:20

Seren is an utterly gorgeous name. I think it does sound a bit different from Charlie and Tilly but sure, so what?

Lucaslovesfelicity Sat 18-Jul-15 20:22:02

Seren is perfect :-) Also really love a Estelle

susurration Sat 18-Jul-15 20:51:52

Hester is greek for Star.

Edna1969 Sat 18-Jul-15 20:56:48

Many congratulations :-)

Callista would be my favourite.

I know a lovely Seren so predisposed to like this name but know she always gets called Sarah by mistake which is v.v. annoying.

ShadowFire Sat 18-Jul-15 21:09:26

Seren is lovely.

I like Stella but the Stella Artois connection puts me off it.

magentastardust Sat 18-Jul-15 21:14:53

Estrella is spanish for Star, I love Seren and also like Celeste.
