Diana or Grace?!

The final list:

Dd is expected to arrive the 16 of July and we have no clue which name to choose. We have no problems with either name. DH prefers Grace and is constantly referring to dd as Gracie already. I love the name as well, but I can't let Diana go, it's underused and beautiful, and I've always liked it. However, I do think Grace sounds better with ds(s) names, Ezra and Sasha. Surname is one syllable and begins with an F. When asked, E preferred Grace but S preferred Diana.

Middle names are family names and she will either be Grace Aurelia or Diana Mirielle.

Diana is dated and still too connected to Princess Diana for me. Grace is lovely, if popular.

I prefer Diana, it's beautiful and elegant, and I think it goes better with the sibling names than Grace does.

I don't know, I think I'd be ready for a baby Diana!

Diana has been gone for nearly 20 years now.

Diana. I love it.

Grace is such an insubstantial name.

Diana! Diana Vickers pulled it off well, so I can see it working on a young twenty something without a Princess vibe.

Grace is boring.

Never heard of Diana Vickers!

FraggleHair Sat 04-Jul-15 00:19:17

That's okay, lots of other people have heard of her.

mrstweefromtweesville Sat 04-Jul-15 00:21:31

Diana is a horrible name. Take the other one, whatever it is.

reuset Sat 04-Jul-15 00:21:57

Ah Google tells me X Factor That's why I've never heard of her. I'm not into that sort of TV grin

GinUpGirl Sat 04-Jul-15 00:24:40

Is Diana Ross more to your taste then? grin

FraggleHair Sat 04-Jul-15 00:25:59

Of course not.

reuset Sat 04-Jul-15 00:44:52

I think that question was for me, fragglehead. grin

No to Diana Ross!

Yellowbird01 Sat 04-Jul-15 00:51:15

Grace, I love it

WasabiNuts Sat 04-Jul-15 01:17:49

What about Indiana?

butterfly133 Sat 04-Jul-15 01:24:31

Grace. No contest. smile

I didn't know Diana Vickers was on X factor, I don't watch it. Loved "once", great song.

Grace is fab, and Gracie is a fab nn but then I am biased.

Diana is quite dated and I automatically think Princess Diana, which isn't a bad connotation but it might seem like you are massive royalists.

Not Diana.

You can't make Grace sound wrong however you say it.

BadHenry Sat 04-Jul-15 06:53:07

They are but nice but Diana edges it for me.

Very glamarous sounding. I am imagining that your surname is a red brown animal that eats chickens? If so, that is an amazing combination!

ConfusedInBath Sun 05-Jul-15 08:20:30

Much nicer than Diana.

Grace is ok. Not offensive but a bit boring.

Allthatnonsense Sun 05-Jul-15 09:59:20

Diana is beautiful and definitely due a revival.

Grace is a bit dull now as there are so many.

MaudeTheMopLady Sun 05-Jul-15 11:00:26

I love Diana - goddess of the hunt and moon. Goes really well with your other names.
Grace is very over popular so doesn't have the same appeal.

MamaLazarou Sun 05-Jul-15 18:09:53

Definitely Diana. Graces are ten-a-penny but your Diana will be the only one in her school.
