Have a feeling it's a girl, so would be grateful for any opinions, experiences on names: Iris, Constance, Georgia or Evelyn? Thanks!

Iris and Constance are heavenly. I have an Iris, it's still not that common and it's so lovely. Constance was my choice if DC3 had been a girl. Lovely abbreviations too - Coco, Tansy, Connie. All great. Georgia is pretty but v popular now. Evelyn is my least favourite.

Iris is lovely. I like Connie a lot but not massively keen on Constance. Georgia is fine, a bit unremarkable. I think I'm echoing the poster above a lot but Evelyn is also my least favourite.

Iris and Constance are beautiful.

Evelyn is my favourite, but only if you pronounce it 'Eev-lin'. If it's 'Ev-lin' or 'Ev-a-lin' than I would say go for Georgia, which is nice.

Not so keen on Constance and Iris. Don't really find names ending in 'ence/ance' very appealing - like Constance, Florence, Hortense, Lawrence, they all sound a bit stodgy. Also don't really get why Iris has become so popular lately. The sound of it - 'eye-riss' is a bit harsh, IMO, although it has a lovely meaning.

Iris is beautiful
I like Connie a lot, but less keen on Constance
Georgia and Evelyn a bit yawn IMO

ashesandfire Fri 26-Jun-15 22:07:21

Also never quite sure how Evelyn would be pronounced which would drive me mad

Dismalfuckers Fri 26-Jun-15 22:08:13

Iris. Love it.

elderflowerlemonade Fri 26-Jun-15 22:09:18

Lovely names.

My favourite is Constance x

FraggleHair Fri 26-Jun-15 22:13:23

I love Georgie for a girl so I'll go for Georgia.

And Iris.

notadoctor Fri 26-Jun-15 22:15:28

I think Iris and Constance are both gorgeous.

I also quite like Evelyn and Georgia - especially with Georgie as a NN

nailslikeknives Fri 26-Jun-15 22:19:04

All lovely. There's a lot of Georgias our way, so that's the one I'd cut from the list.
Going on your list, maybe Audrey?

winkywinkola Fri 26-Jun-15 22:19:49

Evelyn.

Sunflower1985 Fri 26-Jun-15 22:22:49

Constance Cummings was a beautiful actress from the golden age of cinema. Lovely name.

Loula117 Fri 26-Jun-15 22:23:27

Iris. I lobbied for that before knowing DS2 was a boy. It's classic, not overused, literary, easy to spell, a flower name that isn't cutesy...

Your other choices are nice too though.

Sophronia Fri 26-Jun-15 23:00:39

Constance, it's more unusual. Iris is lovely too.

reuset Fri 26-Jun-15 23:05:53

I'm going off Iris. I don't mind popular names, but it seems quite trendy where we are at the moment. Evelyn might be another Evie. Nice name though. Georgia I'm not really a fan of.

That leaves Constance which I think is great

applecatchers36 Fri 26-Jun-15 23:06:50

Another vote for Constance, a gorgeous name

tumbletumble Fri 26-Jun-15 23:11:31

Evelyn would be another Evie which is very popular here.

I love Constance and Iris.

DramaAlpaca Fri 26-Jun-15 23:14:28

I like Constance and Evelyn best.

AWhistlingWoman Fri 26-Jun-15 23:17:29

Yet another vote for Constance over here.

Flowerkid2 Fri 26-Jun-15 23:30:12

Thanks all!

Rogue vote for Georgia. But love Iris too!

CakeRattleandRoll Sat 27-Jun-15 03:49:24

My favourite is Iris.

Wishful80sMontage Sat 27-Jun-15 04:11:58

Georgia is by far the nicest of your choices- classic, pretty but strong love Georgie too.
Where I am in the midlands- Evelyn and iris are much more popular names.
Constance is my least favourite but Connie would be a good nn.
