I really like this name.
What are your opinions and have you ever met a Bonnie?

Tanaqui Wed 24-Jun-15 20:18:30

Yes, one adult human and about 20 dogs- very popular puppy name around here!

RiverTam Wed 24-Jun-15 20:20:04

Never met one. I think it's rather nice.

Shesaysso Wed 24-Jun-15 20:20:57

Like it but feel child has a lot to live up to - what if they're not bonny, they could end up being a laughing stock. I know one though and she's gorgeous.

RattleAndRoll Wed 24-Jun-15 20:22:10

I like it a lotsmile
as long as there's not a sibling name Clyde

d1157230986361b000875 Wed 24-Jun-15 20:25:36

Siblings are Charlie and Tilly - )I seem to like 'ee' ending names
Do you think people will always have the Bonnie and Clyde connection?
I agree if she's ugly it's a shame, but if she's like Tills then that's fine ;)

Bonnie or bonny is a nice way of saying a bit fat or chubby where I am from.

getbusyliving Wed 24-Jun-15 20:33:02

Bonnie is a really nice name but feels as if it should be short for something... The only name I can think of right now is Bonita which isn't great imo.
Do you like Connie short for Constance?

d1157230986361b000875 Wed 24-Jun-15 20:47:20

I am not a fan of Bonita, I don't mind too much that Bonnie is almost nickname sounding becasue Tilly is.
I like Connie, only thing that puts me off is my sisters step son is Connor (nn Con) feel it may be too similar, but I do like it and OH does as well smile
I also like that Connie would share the same initials as Charlie and dad Chris smile Not sure which I prefer though!

I knew a Bonnie. Her mother was utterly weird.

I knew a Connie. She was our Labrador when i was a kid.

I had a beautiful Labrador while I was growing up, she was named Bonnie. There are lots of Labradors named Bonnie,I'm not entirely sure why grin I can't think of the name in any other context now.

d1157230986361b000875 Wed 24-Jun-15 21:04:47

Tilly was named after OH dog; Poor child I know, but I just loved the name smile I am not worried about Bonnie or Connie being associated with dogs smile
I have met 2 Connie's, one is 29 and the other is 2 (at the preschool where I work). I slightly prefer Bonnie I think.
Thank you for your comments smile

I love Bonnie. It reminds me of Bonnie Blue Butler, Scarlett and Rhett's daughter in Gone With The Wind.

whyhasmyheadgonenumb Wed 24-Jun-15 21:09:58

I love the name bonnie........want another DD now!!!!

backscratcher Wed 24-Jun-15 21:24:48

I have a 4 year old Bonnie. Name seems to suit her! Everyone seems to compliment her name (to my face anyway), and I don't know of any other Bonnie's.

Nickname we use is Boo.

Have no regrets about her name - love it.

Janethegirl Wed 24-Jun-15 21:30:02

The only 'Bonnie's I know are dogs. Not a good choice for a child IMO.

scrivette Wed 24-Jun-15 21:40:11

I knew a Labrador Bonnie in the 80's. I think it's a very sweet girls name and goes well with Tilly.

IHaveBrilloHair Wed 24-Jun-15 21:43:01

A bit silly.

CordeliaFoxx Wed 24-Jun-15 21:45:14

I know I Bonnie, she's lovely BUT my dog is also called Bonnie as are at least 3 others in my street

mrssmith79 Wed 24-Jun-15 21:51:40

What about Isobel nn Izzy?

5madthings Wed 24-Jun-15 21:55:08

Love it, it was on our list, I know two adult bunnies, and a teen bonnie. Also know a toddler called Connie.

If we ever have another it will be on our name list again, we went with Merryn instead but still love bonnie.

StormT Wed 24-Jun-15 22:03:05

Nice taste, 5mad - I love Merryn and Bonnie! What are your others called?

RJnomore Wed 24-Jun-15 22:08:01

I know a little girl bonnie, it's a lovely name.

Reminds me of gone with Thr wind thought rather then bonnie and Clyde but that didn't end well either.

I have an adult friend Bonnie. She's not particularly attractive looking and I've never really given it a second thought. I also know a Constance (through work and she was never a Connie there) and she did live up to her name, in fact she was quite formidable.

I'd not choose Connie with a Con in the family and two 'C' initials already. The only other 'onnie' I can think of is Ronnie from Veronica.

27inmyhead Thu 25-Jun-15 06:19:25

I like it. Never known one.
