How many Sophies do you know? Just noticed it was the 9th ranking girls name in 2015. Personally havent heard of any. Its the only name DH and I agree on, what else might we like. He has suggested Abigail and Tabitha I dont like them. I love Erin and Esmee he hates them.

I know two teenage Sophie's - one of them very well Wink - I think it is a lovely name.

Beautiful name. I know many Sophias/Sofias, but not Sophies. Must be regional, as I know Sophie charts higher.

I know three little ones. It's very popular round here but that's because it's a lovely name.

I know lots there are about 7 at dd school and a couple of Sophia's also.

If you both like it though don't let that phase you.

I have a 21 month old Sophie but don't know any others.

I have a Sophie. She has a best friend called Sophie.

But I can't think of any others, apart from one in her 30s that I work with.

Lovely name Smile

Thank you everyone i'm falling more and more in love with it the more I say it. Can't imagine using any other name but the popularity is putting DH slightly. (hopefully not too much)

I've got a teeny tiny one, met someone at softplay with one 3 days younger & there's one a couple of months younger at baby group, so seems to be popular in my neck of the woods. Still love it & knew it was popular when I chose it.
Quite a few Sophie's & Sofia's here too

A gorgeous classic. It has been popular so so long for a reason. I chose a top ten name for my son and don't come across it nearly as much as I thought I would.

My DD is a Sophie, I love it still and she loves it. She is 29 by the way.

I know a couple of older Sophie's and little Sophia's. I love your Dh suggestion of Abigail very pretty and not met any of those.

Thank you Bjn thats reassuring. Thats one of the many reasons i love it its a name for life not just a baby name if that makes sense. He has always loved abigail but i just cant warm to it.

My friends 4 year old has to double barrel the name with her middle name to differentiate her from the other 3 in the class...

Always makes me think of soppy somehow don't get why it's always so popular. Abigail way better IMO.

Extremely popular with babies near me but still one of my first choices if I ever have a daughter

Abigail is lovely too but increasing in popularity - I know at least 3 under 5

I know 3 adult Sophie's and 2 child Sophie's (London). Sophie and Sophia are lovely names though. I have a fairly popular 90s name and in school there were loads. Now I'm older I haven't come across another for ages
