Nella (nn Nell)

And then there are some names that we are a bit iffy on: Celestine, Noemi, Zara

Feel free to comment suggestions and opinions on the names. DH suddenly loves Diana, but I'm not too sure about it. We already have two sons, Ezra and Sasha, and our last name starts with an F and is one syllable (which is why I would like her name to have at least 2 syllables).

I don't like Nella or Diana. Lucy is nice but I would spell like this. I think it's a bit plain Next to your ds names.
Zara too similar to Ezra imo.

Really like Clementine and Noemi, both lovely with Ezra and Sasha. I do prefer Naomi to Noemi though

formerlyofLadysmith Tue 16-Jun-15 20:10:50

I love clementine. Please use it!

CrispyFern Tue 16-Jun-15 20:46:53

Dislike Nella. It looks silly.
I don't like the ie bit of Lucy there. If it was Lucy, I'd like it.
I don't like Diana. Clunky.
Clementine is Ok.

Celeste is much nicer then Celestine, which sounds a bit like intestine.
Noemi is great.
Zara is Ok.

So, I really like Lucy, Celeste, and Noemi.
Clementine and Zara, I would also accept.

I love your boys names! But I don't think any of these really 'go' with them. Nella just isn't a name, the others I like especially Clementine and Lucie (love that spelling, I know a couple of Lucies) but they just don't go with the boys names.

applecatchers36 Tue 16-Jun-15 21:06:51

Lucy and Naomi are nice names. Don't like the strange spellings of these names why would you spell them that way?

Not keen on the other girls names.

Sophronia Tue 16-Jun-15 21:30:15

Diana is my favourite.

JanuaryJuniper Tue 16-Jun-15 21:43:32

Nella or Clementine go really well with your other dc names which are fab btw!!

Cloggal Tue 16-Jun-15 21:47:17

Nella great with your other names. Can I suggest Nuala? (In English it is basically Noo-la). Short for Fionnuala, it's Irish but I like...
I know of a little Della too.

Zara lovely but too like a mix of Ezra and Sasha.

LettuceLaughton Tue 16-Jun-15 21:54:21

Nella looks and feels a bit off but Nell is great.
Isn't Helen(a) the name that Nell traditionally came from? That'd be lovely with your DS's (fab) names.

LettuceLaughton Tue 16-Jun-15 22:09:18

Ah, it seems traditionally it's from Helen / Ellen / Eleanor. Still.

Cornelia would work really well too. As would Petronella.

CakeRattleandRoll Wed 17-Jun-15 04:13:06

Favourites are Zara and Clementine. Although as PP suggested, Celeste is really beautiful, so I'd choose that if poss.

scarletforya Wed 17-Jun-15 04:19:16

Nell (don't like Nella though, sounds made-up) and Clementine.

NadiaWadia Wed 17-Jun-15 04:26:37

Nella is a name, I have heard it before. I think it's used mostly in the Netherlands, or maybe Germany? Lots of names that people seem to love in the UK are from continental Europe, so why not? Just because you've not heard of it doesn't make it 'wrong' FGS. It's quite nice.

And Lucie is the recognised French spelling of Lucy but has also been used over here for ages. In one of Beatrix Potter's books (Mrs Tiggywinkle?) there is a little girl called Lucie.

I think my favourites are Lucie and Clementine. For some reason I have never liked Diana that much, although it is obviously classic.

BadHenry Wed 17-Jun-15 04:27:20

I like Diana and I think but could sound incredibly glamorous with a one syllable surname.

Zara is also really nice.

nooka Wed 17-Jun-15 04:35:28

I prefer Lucy to Lucie. I have a lovely friend called Lucille so I like that too smile

Prefer Celeste to Celestine, and quite like Diana (although I think I'd avoid another 'a' name). Zara is cool, but too like Ezra.

How do you pronounce Noemi (my mind thinks No-mi)?

Emochild Wed 17-Jun-15 06:04:19

Diana sounds really old fashioned and not in a good way

I like Zara and lucie from your list

Szeli Wed 17-Jun-15 07:57:42

Nell as oppose to Nella

Noemi looks like a mispelling but I can't work out where the letters should be. Not sure which name this is supposed to be.

Agree with pp re Celeste

Diana is a wonderfully classic name but not sure it works best with your boys names.

I think Nell, Celeste or Zara from your (slightly ammended) list

diddl Wed 17-Jun-15 08:24:05

I think that Nella is fabulous.

Only one I have heard of is Nella Last who wrote diaries in WW2 (Housewife, 49)

Think she may have been a Nellie.

Prefer Lucia to Lucie.

Ward3 Sun 21-Jun-15 06:04:33

I like Nella but I feel it doesn't fit well the best Ezra and Sasha. What about a name where Nell/a/ie would work as a nickname? Perenelle maybe?
Zara I think will be too much like the store.
To break the chain I actually like Celestine a lot more than Celeste.
Lucie is adorable and I think it fits in well.
Clementine is nice too though not my favorite.
Not a big fan of Noemi but in consideration I also don't like Naomi or Niomi.
Diana is cute, maybe with the nickname Annie (Di is dreadful imo)
I like Lucie and Nella (in any form) best

GiantGaspingSatanicCyst Sun 21-Jun-15 06:30:17

I'm not mad about any of them tbh, especially not with your boys' names (which are lovely).

If you want another -a name, maybe Mara instead of Zara?

Also love Helena nn Nell as a pp suggested.

CPtart Sun 21-Jun-15 06:48:15

Naomi (spelt this way) and Zara.
None of your shortlist, sorry.

florascotia Sun 21-Jun-15 11:35:30

FWIW Noemi is the French/Italian version of Naomi. French version hasan acuteaccent on the 'e'.

florascotia Sun 21-Jun-15 11:36:11

Don't know what happened to word spacing there. Sorry.

ipsofactocollapso Sun 21-Jun-15 12:38:29

they are all lovely! smile
