I think Summer is a really pretty name.

Oh, thank you! I thought it would have 'ugh!' responses! I was tentatively thinking Summer, Skye or Seren(a).

That's funny. When I read Summer in your OP I immediately thought of Skye as well Grin.

Also fab.

Sorry but its a bit to out there for me, ok as a nickname for a kid but as an adult -your lawyer, surgeon, etc I'd find it strange tbh.

I think it's a pretty name. Although I know a wee girl called Summer and she's the most horrid wee girl about.

I didn't realise this was Baby Names to start with and looked out of the window and was about to say "Yep, I agree - it appears to not have arrived yet".

On the name front - lovely. Though only, only, only if she is born in, well, the summer. Have a friend whose DD was born in January and they called her summer. Can I admit to a childish snigger every year on her birthday...

I love it and would have used it if I'd had the chance.

I like it as it's a strong female name. The sun is both positive and powerful. Some female names I think are pretty but a bit whimsical - eg Daisy is lovely but Prime Minister Daisy sounds wrong somehow.

I love it & Autumn (not for summer born) - but hate Skye. Def didn't go with surname for me though

I prefer it as a middle name.

Summer is chavvy in my area. Sorry OP. I am sure it is a nice name in other areas

Thank you :)

I like nature names but I'm not keen on many flower names apart from poppy.

I don't really like summer

Similar vibe:

Avalon
Juno
Sienna
Augusta
Ocean

Not really keen on any of them sorry, other than sienna but I wouldn't use that as it is a bit 'modern' due to sienna miller!

I did wonder about Juliet, if she arrives in July, which I hope she will. Or is it just too 'shakespeare'?

Juliet is a lovely option if you want to link her name to the time of birth. My July niece was named Julie, although that's a bit 70s now.

Summer is a gorgeous name though - I used to envy a TV character with that name, especially as she was stunningly gorgeous too.

I was thinking possibly Juliet Rosalind Smile

Juliet Rosalind is beautiful (and I prefer it to Summer) but Rosalind is a Shakespeare character/heroine as well, not sure if that would bother you? Smile
