Hello!

I like fairly uncommonly used names, like Leonard, Leslie, inigo, Adrian.

He likes more popular names like Daniel, Sam, Oscar, Theo, Alex.

I would like a) suggestions
And b) any advice for a website which lists names in order of popularity, so we can be looking at the right sort of zone? (200 + I think!)
TIA

Op, have you looked at a website called namedtogether.com (I think it's that) You tick your favourites, he ticks his and you get some crossover, hopefully.

Hi, thick and thin... Thanks for thesuggestion. I have looked at that website. I'm slightly reluctant to try it as it only lists top 500 names, and I'd like to be eliminating the more popular names ideally.

Hi, bikerunski, thanks for your suggestions. I have looked on the ons website, which gives top 100 names lists. I can't seem to find anything that would give me a list of names ranked 200+!

So definatley still looking for that list. I like dark greener a lot, but i think it doesn't give you a list, it just tells you the stats for an individual name that you can type in.

In terms of your suggestions, I actually only like Ivan and ivor, both of which my partner doesn't like.....

Any more?

If you use this link, it will give you links to lists of every name used in Scotland last year (by rank or alphabetical), even those only used once - I appreciate that you may not be Scottish, but you could look at the rarer ones and see if there is anything there that takes your fancy.

I think you might like to check out nameverry.com. It does keep track of names that are IN and names that are OUT. It has lots common and uncommon choices that I believe will fit both of your tastes and you can create lists on the website of names that both of you like and that both of you disagree on. It is quite fun to me. I spend most of my days there, though I'm starting to like this site very much.

The ons does list every baby name for the given year, it's just tricky to find but is there.

Aha! I found the ons list! It's on about page 6 of the spreadsheet, with an u unconvincing title. I have had a look through it, and shown my partner, he is really interested in it too, and I think is starting to understand why I would discount perfectly good names for being in the top 50.

I will definitely look at the Scottish page and the nameberry page too, thank you so much for the suggestions.

I searched Google for Australian boy's names in order to find a few different ones. I'm struggling massively to find ones I like!

I don't mind Guy, they were just suggestions of unusual names.

Actually Guy is a fairly unusual name...
