Hi everyone
I think I'm addicted to starting new name threads! Anyway thanks in advance for your comments- and for all the ones on my other threads!
My son will be a quarter Irish and a quarter Jewish. I like Finn because it's Irish and is a name I like and I like Zachary/ Zac which I think is a Hebrew name. Also like Theo. Which do you like best and why?

Zachary is my favourite.

Finn is my favourite. I just prefer it, and as a full name not needing to be shortened. Zachary second favourite. Theo is ok

I like Theo best, then Zachary/Zac.

I know about 4 Finns around the ages of 2-6 round here already. I'm not keen on overly popular names myself so Finn would be out for me just for that reason. I love Zachary and Theo though.

Zachary wins for me. I do like Finn (I actually prefer Finan/Finley) but I know a couple of Fins. Not massively keen on Theo (again, prefer Theodore as full name)

I like all of them.

I think an important consideration is which one works best with your surname. Also, bear in mind that in parts of the country, people seem to pronounce "th" as "f", so to my ears Finn sounds like the word "thin".

My last name is 2 syllables with the emphasis on the first and and in 'en' sound if that helps? so would be a bit like:

Theo Marten
Finn Marten
Zachary Marten

They are all nice but if I had to pick one I'd go for Finn!

I prefer Finn and Zac.

The reason I dislike Theo is that a lot of children struggle to pronounce the "Th" sound and use "F" instead.

I like Zachary Smile it's cute

Zachary is lovely, but really don't like Zac. Finn is nice as well.

Definitely Finn (biased Wink)

Primary schools are packed with Finns and Finlays and Finbars. It's a nice name but I'd avoid it. I prefer Theo to Zachary.

Theo. The others sound a bit dated as they were massively popular about 5 to 10 years ago.

bit of a sweeping statement, biscuit, how on earth do you know that? FWIW, I don't know of any Finns or similar, know of maybe one Zac and a few Theos.

I have an irrational dislike of Theo.

Finn is nice enough, but I don't find it that inspiring and wonder if it will date?

Zachary is lovely but I'm not a huge fan of Zac.

I prefer Zac out of all of this. Zachary has a lovely soft sound to it.

Although Finn and Theo are perfectly nice names, there are loads around at the moment - in the South East anyway. Finn has been really popular for a while, and Theo is newly popular but seems to be everywhere. If this is a problem for you, I would avoid these.

Thanks everyone this is really helpful. Do you think Zachary Christian goes or is that a bit much?

It makes Zachary sound like an adjective.

I like Zac and Theo more than Finn (although I prefer Isaac as a lengthened version of Zac).
