6 days to go - think this is now ' the one' we've finally settled on . What do you reckon ? And any preference on the middle names :
Idris Ezra Thomas .. ( then surname )
Idris Arlo Thomas ...
Idris Jack Thomas ...
( jack and thomas are family names we'd like to possibly carry through)
Thanks all !

I like Idris Jack Thomas the best smile

bluewisteria Mon 08-Jun-15 15:09:45

Idris Arlo Thomas
idris Jack Thomas

Not sure what your surname is but I prefer Thomas in the middle.

Love Idris!

Am I right in thinking there's a Welsh connection? If so I like Idris Jack please smile

ClementineAndCordelia Mon 08-Jun-15 15:15:46

There is a Welsh connection yes smile surname is short, sharp 1 syllable. Lots of 'Jack' fans so far . We are getting somewhere ! Thanks

Idris Arlo Thomas is AMAZING! Keep Ezra in case you have another ds wink

Lolimax Mon 08-Jun-15 15:27:35

Hapus gyda Jack yma!

FoamyOne Mon 08-Jun-15 15:47:37

Love Idris! As it's also the name of a Muslim prophet (so will travel well and widely), I'd avoid Ezra (also fab - save it, as suggested!) as the overall effect is very religious (unless that's what you are aiming for). I couldn't chose between Jack and Arlo. Good luck!

Don't love Idris but don't massively dislike it either. I actually quite like all three combinations although in reality I think very few people ever use their middle names so they're kind of irrelevant. Probably my favourite combo is Idris Ezra Thomas but if Jack is a family name I'd favour that.

Sophronia Mon 08-Jun-15 18:55:12

Another vote for Jack. Love it!

chocfireguard Mon 08-Jun-15 20:02:29

Idris Ezra sounds very similar to Idris Elba...

ClementineAndCordelia Tue 09-Jun-15 12:18:48

Yes that's what my worry was too ChocFireGuard!! Think we'll go for Idris Jack - seems to be the general consensus and will please my FIL no end smile thanks for your comments everyone ! Diolch pobyn !

I love Idris and would have had one if I had another chance! It is the name of the little dragon that Ivor the Engine carries around in his furnace (I also love Ivorxxxxxxxx)

Ivor Jack is best. Easier to say. Hope FIL suitably appreciative!

DayLillie Tue 09-Jun-15 12:26:12

Sorry - Idris Jack - got carried away with my Ivors there blush

PotteringAlong Tue 09-Jun-15 12:27:05

I have an Idris! Love it!

TeresaGuidice Tue 09-Jun-15 12:33:26

Love Idris but definitely not with Ezra
Idris Elba is pretty well known these days and it's just too similar , it was my first thought when I saw it.
Love all the other choices though
Good luck gringrin

JammyTodger Tue 09-Jun-15 12:38:54

We loved Idris but went with Ivor in the end. Arlo was also on our list.

4 days overdue now - still going for Idris we think. If anyone has got any last suggestions on the name combinations or just about the name itself , that would be great - thanks smile

Isn't your 'Jack Thomas' your penis? (if you are a chap, obviously)

...or is it 'John Thomas'?

Bit close for comfort though, if you ask me smile

Leaflitter Sat 20-Jun-15 17:18:44

Love Idris.

Think Idris Thomas Jack flows best.

timelyreminder Sat 20-Jun-15 17:27:35

Idris Arlo Thomas.

I don't like Jack, and Idris Ezra is a bit of a mouthful.
