Posy - nice or twee?

Watched a film today where the baby was called Posy and thought it was lovely. Do you think it's an acceptable name for someone older than age 5 or is it just my crazy hormones?

Thanks!

Wasn't one of the Flumps called Posy?

No. Just no.

It was! I remember now. The others were called Perkin and Pootle.

Seriously, no.

I've heard of Posy being used as a nickname for Josephine, which I think is quite sweet.

Lovely, but then I'm a massive fan of Noel Streatfeild.

Very twee. Must be the hormones. You have read Ballet Shoes, I hope? Posy is the worst Fossil sister by a country mile. Petrova is a great name and she is the best Fossil sister- have you considered this?

Lovely nickname, e.g. for Josephine or Mariposa but I think it's a bit twee as a proper given name! I think there are a lot of grown women it just wouldn't work on and as such I would recommend it.

What about Peony with the nick name posy. Or call baby Josephine with the nick name posy.

Nice (another ballet shoes fan)

So no.
Blame your hormones.

Ooooh nooooo, instead of focusing n little cute baby baby name, try thinking about an adult name. Posy is just cringeworthy as a 'I'm a grown up take me seriously' name, very sickly.

I called my DD Posy. I think it's beautiful, just like she is.
