My friend's ds is called Oscar - he's just turned two...... But we had a dog called Oscar so for me, it's still a dog's name!

Literally been having this conversation just now with DH!!! It was top of my boys list in 2011 but we had a girl. Due a boy next week and had decided against it this time due to popularity and the fact my cousin had a dog when we were growing up called Oscar. But at the last minute I'm reconsidering it!!!! I'm not too worried about the dog association, it's more the popularity which I was set on avoiding...

There's loads. Two in a class. As popular as Finlay / Finley.

Human.

But the current trend for pets names is human sounding names so many names could be either, really.

Milly, Penny, Alfie, Toby and Molly...are they the names of children I know or the names of family pets?

My husband and I have had to think long and hard about names for our baby to avoid "three dogs or three daughters?" confusion Grin

Human.

I know one who's 3 and one who's 33. There's also Oscar the footballer who I believe, is 23. What is it with all these threes!

My first thought was pet - specifically, cat. Then Oscar Wilde of but not a modern human...it's in now though? Confused you learn something every day.

Human (or grouchy muppet)
But it's popular - England and Wales ranked 17th in 2012 and 7th in 2013, so on the rise too.

There are two in each of DS1 and DS2's year groups plus there are three siblings called Oscar/Oskar. We also have one in extended family. Its very popular.
