It's ok. I prefer Delphine. Or Delphi.

Daphne has really grown on me in the last couple of years. I absolutely love it.

Also love Delphine.

It's lovely go for it. Can't go wrong with classical Greek goddesses and fragrant flowers

I can't get on with the name daphne personally. I just think daphne broon. It seems frumpy to me. But, lots of people on here seem to love be it.

Daphne is a great name, having been in the deep freeze for a generation or too. The last time someone asked about it on here I thought that you would still need to be fairly cool to pull it off, but I think it's becoming relatively more mainstream now. I like it because the sound itself is really pretty and because it's a truly classic name. I also know a wonderful Daphne.

Reminds me of Daphne on Neighbours 20+ years ago. Bit dated IMHO

I don't dislike it, but it has a 'ditzy and daffy' vibe to it. Probably from Daphne on Neighbours, actually!

I love Dahlia, though.

I love it and would've used it, but I had sons in the end.

One of the daughters on Nashville is called Daphne (she's about 10?), the actresses real name is Maisy.

Don't particularly like it, it sounds quite dated to me. It is having a comeback though, I know 2 Daphne's under 1 year old. Previously I'd never met any Daphne's in real life!!

I immediately think of Jack Lemmon in Some Like It Hot. Who was brilliant of course but maybe not the ideal first thought. So um maybe a no for me.

I love it. I know a little one, also known as Daffers.

I like it because it's a strong yet very pretty, feminine name. First thought is Daphne DDM.

Report
DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/05/2015 13:42

DM I mean, not DDMGrin

Really like it - it's been barely used for a while and feels quite fresh again now. I think of Daphne DM and Greek myths (nice plant association, even though the myth itself is quite a sad one!) Also has a similar sound to other more popular names like Chloe, Phoebe and Zoe, so fits in well with those. I say go for it!
