Max gets my vote. Tom second, Ludo just makes me think of the game.

Ludo makes me think of this guy (from Labyrinth). Not necessarily a bad thing!

Ludo, Max or Tom?

Love Ludo

Ludo if you're feeling brave, or Thomas with nn Tom as a safe option.

I don't like Max, and it doesn't go well with Rupert.

Ha, soundsystem! You haven't put me off though!

Softsheen yes would be Thomas with Tom as a nn.

I think Maximilian goes well with Rupert.

Ludo is a great name.

Is Ludo a name? It doesn't sound like one.

Tom, simple, classic, timeless, non class specific.

Tom

Isn't Ludo Kate & William's dog?

Ludo, it's gorgeous. Max and Tom far to popular and boring.

I like Max and Tom, but would prefer to give a child the full name and just use them as what they are called day to day.

Ludo just makes me think of the board game.

Ludo. I wasn't brave enough to use it, can't see which boy it would have suited, but it was way up my list.

Ludo, Max and Tom are all short forms of longer names (Ludovic, Maxwell/Maximilian and Thomas). It's up to you, entirely, but I tend to think that giving a child a 'full' name and then using the short form if that' what you prefer offers them more flexibility in later life.

I quite like Ludovic and Thomas. Not so keen on the 'Max' names.

Ludo! The world is already full of Maxes and Toms.

I was going to say Tom but if your first DS is called Rupert you have to call this one Ludo.

But maybe short for something e.g. Ludovic?

Tom is nice as a nn for Thomas if you don't feel brave though.

Max or Maxwell or Maximilian is ok but I am not really a fan (but that could be because our neighbour had a very vicious free range pet rabbit know as Maxie when I was a child).

Tom and Max are both nice and pretty "safe". Ludo is definitely more unusual so depends what you want. IMO Ludo is quite an ugly name, it sounds extremely harsh and for some reason I think it sounds vaguely rude (that's a very subjective comment so feel free to disregard!). I guess in summary I'm saying I really dislike Ludo.

I would avoid Ludo.

I'm another one who's thinking board game.

Ludo is excellent. Agree it's either Ludo or Tom with Rupert. Either is good, Tom is a total classic, but I'd go for Ludo. Definitely Ludovic as a full name though.

Ludo

Then Tom, although a very different kind of name to Ludo.

Never been a fan of Max.

Love Rupert btw.

Ludo is horrible. It's either a board game or the nice monster from Labyrinth. I like Tom best, followed by Max.

Love Ludovic, though I think Hugo is a better match if you have a Rupert already.

Is your child likely to go to a school that teaches Latin? Because - as I'm sure you know (and it's the reason behind the name of the board game) - in Latin, 'Ludo' means 'I play'. So he might get the odd joky comment, but it's a good and cheerful meaning for a name.

As I'm sure you also know, Ludovic is a version of Ludwig/Louis, which means something like 'famous battle'.

Ludo is ace. And if you already have a Rupert, you're clearly quite brave about names anyway.
