Any ideas on fuller names for either of them... Winifred and Bonita !!!

Bronwyn nn Winnie
Indifferent to them so its an either or,

DampAndRotten Wed 13-May-15 22:39:57

Of the two, Bonnie.

I agree with 2boys though - Bronwyn (or Bronwen) is beautiful and then you could use either nn..

I don't like either name to be homest but if you're going for one the Bronwen nn Bonnie is better.

Bronwyn can be translated from Welsh to English as white breasts!

Bonnie is a 1980s Blue Peter dog or Bonnie Langford.

Though personally I don't like the sound of 'Winnie'. It sounds whinghy.

ColdCottage Thu 14-May-15 20:11:20

Arwen for Winnie

AuntieStella Thu 14-May-15 20:15:09

Winnie (the Pooh?) is usually Winifred, but could be any ends-in-wyn name. It doesn't sound whingy to me, but a whinny is a definite type of noise.

Bonnie is OK - and as all babies are bonny by definition, it could be a totally random nn.

The Winnie I know is short for Winsome.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers Fri 15-May-15 10:15:32

God not Winnie. Please! Bonnie is pretty, Winnie isn't.

Marcipex Fri 15-May-15 11:14:35

Bonnie is awful, twee-yet-drab, and Winnie is just plain drab.
Sorry but please don't.

squoosh Fri 15-May-15 11:35:28

Bonnie is acceptable.

Winnie is dreadful.

Jazzicatz Fri 15-May-15 11:38:43

Definitely names for a Labrador!

PrivatePike Fri 15-May-15 11:39:40

Bonnie - ok (bit doggy though).

But Winnie is just terrible to my ears.sad

Allthatnonsense Fri 15-May-15 11:39:43

Both so lovely!

gnushoes Fri 15-May-15 11:42:48

Winnie Mandela? Bonnie Langford?? Hmm.

OutragedFromLeeds Fri 15-May-15 11:46:34

I'm not keen on either, but I prefer Winnie. It's cute for a little girl, don't like it for an older child/adult though. Could be short for Edwina, Gwyneth, Guinevere, Gwendolyn, Winter or Winona. All of which are pretty awful imo.

Kaekae Sun 17-May-15 01:46:50

Winnie for me.

stillsingingintherain Sun 17-May-15 02:23:45

Cant stand Winnie, I'm afraid. Like Bonnie, have you thought of Connie?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Sun 17-May-15 02:27:02

One of my best friends is a Bonnie and she is absolutely lovely so I'm biased!

MissBluebell Sun 17-May-15 20:05:12

I think Winnie is adorable.
