Hello everyone :-)

In the same boat as most people I guess, I have a list of names which I like for both outcomes as this is our first and we don't want to know the sex. I like these names but I haven't found the one yet, or at least I don't think so. I'm looking for some help with similar names, I prefer names that are not over used and not out landish or 'new'.

Boys:
Bradley
Adam
Jonathan
William
Arthur
George
Miles

Girls:
Lily
Edie
Emeline
Poppy
Annie
Megan
Amelia

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks in advance x

Boys-Adam, Johnathon or Miles are lovely
Girls-I think all of the names you've chosen are a bit too well used apart from Emeline and Annie and maybe Lily. Personally I would class Annie and Edie as a nickname for Anne(-Marie) and Edith. I don't get Emeline at all sorry but really like Lily. It will always be lovely because it's a flower. I would've chosen it but we already have one in our family and I would've gone for Lilian/Lilia/Liliana but that's just me.

I like William, Jonathan and George from your boys list. I'm not overly keen on any of your girls list though they're all nice enough. I like Edie but think of it as a nickname for Edith.

For boys, I think Jonathan is your best name here. Arthur and George are also nice - I honestly see nothing wrong with your list. Good strong names.

For girls I would advise against Megan, poppy, Amelia and lily. Megan and Poppy are names for babies and naughty teenagers - not middle aged women. And you can't bump into a five year old girl who ISNT called Lily or amelia these days.

More powerful names for girls, I would suggest:

Viola
Catherine
Amelie (like Amelia but less flowery)
Phoebe
Anastasia
Ella
Elizabeth
Hannah
Isla
Cara
Cora
Juliet
Esther
Bethany
Victoria
Callista
Camille
Michelle
Zara
Sarah
Christina
Clementine
Gardenia
Iris
Antonia
Cassandra
Marjorie
