Classy Boys & Girls Name(5 Posts)
Hello everyone :-)
In the same boat as most people I guess, I have a list of names which I like for both outcomes as this is our first and we don't want to know the sex. I like these names but I haven't found the one yet, or at least I don't think so. I'm looking for some help with similar names, I prefer names that are not over used and not out landish or 'new'.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance x
Boys-Adam, Johnathon or Miles are lovely
Girls-I think all of the names you've chosen are a bit too well used apart from Emeline and Annie and maybe Lily. Personally I would class Annie and Edie as a nickname for Anne(-Marie) and Edith. I don't get Emeline at all sorry but really like Lily. It will always be lovely because it's a flower. I would've chosen it but we already have one in our family and I would've gone for Lilian/Lilia/Liliana but that's just me.
I like Jonathan, William, Arthur, George, Miles, Edie (as a nickname for Edith), Emeline (prefer Emmeline) and Annie from your list.
Eva / Evie
I like William, Jonathan and George from your boys list. I'm not overly keen on any of your girls list though they're all nice enough. I like Edie but think of it as a nickname for Edith.
Suggestions along similar lines:
Anthony, Andrew, Brandon, Christopher, David, Edward, Ethan, Felix, Gregory, Gareth, Harvey, Jamie, Joseph, John, Luke, Matthew, Michael, Nicholas, Owen, Patrick, Peter, Robert, Simon, Timothy.
Amy, Anna, Amber, April, Alexa, Adele, Bethany, Bella, Cara, Clara, Claire, Cassie, Callie, Darcey, Emma, Esme, Erin, Erica, Faye, Faith, Georgia, Hannah, Hazel, Iris, Ivy, Juliet, Jasmine, Lucy, Leah, Lois, Maria, Melody, Melissa, Natasha, Naomi, Phoebe, Pippa, Rosie, Robyn, Rowena, Sorrell, Sadie, Saskia, Susannah, Thea, Tilly, Verity, Zoe.
For boys, I think Jonathan is your best name here. Arthur and George are also nice - I honestly see nothing wrong with your list. Good strong names.
For girls I would advise against Megan, poppy, Amelia and lily. Megan and Poppy are names for babies and naughty teenagers - not middle aged women. And you can't bump into a five year old girl who ISNT called Lily or amelia these days.
More powerful names for girls, I would suggest:
Amelie (like Amelia but less flowery)
