Just that really!

Norah, I would if used if for my DD if it didn't rhyme with my name.

nyldn Mon 05-Jan-15 22:21:39

norah, beautiful!

nannyj Mon 05-Jan-15 22:22:16

Norah is lovely!

BiancaDelRio Mon 05-Jan-15 22:22:45

Nora (prefer it with no 'h').

Absolutely gorgeous.

Isabel is drab and overused by comparison.

SanityClause Mon 05-Jan-15 22:25:42

Isabel is very popular, and has been for years. It's a very pretty name, which accounts for its popularity.

IMO, Norah is not very pretty, but is less popular, so that may make it more preferable to you.

My Dd started secondary in September and was just this evening telling me about a new friend she has met (have become very good friends and she is called Nora! I commented to my dd that it was a unusual name to hear nowadays!

I would def go Nora (prefer without the h) lots of Isabel, Isabella's, izzy etc

Flamin' Nora! Bloody Nora!

Prefer Isabel.

Norah, very cool and classy.

Isabel I love too but there are two in dd's reception class so very popular.

Norah. Both are very pretty but Norah is much more unusual and cool.

As an aside: I applaud your choice of Isabel over Isabela. Much classier imho

TheCowThatLaughs Tue 06-Jan-15 02:51:42

Norah, with the h on

DramaAlpaca Tue 06-Jan-15 10:02:07

Isabel, definitely.

Frikadellen Tue 06-Jan-15 10:27:00

Another vote for Norah.

loislines Tue 06-Jan-15 10:56:35

Love Norah (especially with the h)!

Bowlersarm Tue 06-Jan-15 10:58:20

Nora, without the h.

Isabel is nice too, though.

NeedABumChange Tue 06-Jan-15 11:03:17

Norah with the H, only with the H.

Isabel is too common now.

squoosh Tue 06-Jan-15 11:19:31

I like Nora, it's got a bit of oomph. I'm thinking Nora Jones rather than Batty.

Isabel sounds so tired and overdone these days.

Ludways Tue 06-Jan-15 11:22:20

Isabel is a beautiful name, the fact there are lots of them doesn't make it less beautiful, simply overused.

I had a good friend, Nora, lovely name and much less used.

Chatty987 Tue 06-Jan-15 18:56:06

Both are beautiful names. I'd drop the h too on Norah although I don't know why particularly - Seems to make it a bit more modern but not sure if that's a good enough reason.

burgatroyd Tue 06-Jan-15 19:12:22

Lots of Isabels so will vote Norah with H!

Isabel is so popular that I've turned off the name but understand its popularity.

I really dislike Nora and think its a plain and old fashioned. There is one in my family (about 16 years old) and I still think its an awful name.

There are sooooo many Izzys everywhere. You practically trip over one every time you go to get a biscuit out of the tin.

So, I like Norah.
