Having dismissed all my first list of names, DHL was made to think of 6 names he liked. I've told him I'll put them on here for you to comment on please. .and then I'll show him! I'm making no comment.

Emma
Amanda
Marianne

Bizarrely, i like Suki, although it goes against all my principles as it isn't a proper name.

Not Fawn, as although the baby deer thing is quite cute the idea of "fawning" over someone is not a nice association.

Otherwise you have a strange mix of "out there" names and very standard names. Unusually for me I quite like Lyric.

Like Marianne. Amanda is OK. Emma is too popular. The others are not my cup of tea.

Marianne or Emma

Marianne or Emma from me too.
I might be swayed by Lyric, depending on Tue surname. Lyric Master, Lyric Acapella, and Lyric Brown would all be um.... Not great.

Marianne is lovely and Emma is nice too. Not a fan of the others.

Lyric - Seems masculine
Fawn - Just can't picture it on a person.
Emma - Pretty plain, but nothing wrong with it. Like the nickname Emmy.
Amanda - The only people I know with this name are horrible, but I guess I have nothing against the name itself.
Marianne - Same as Amanda.
Suki - I really like it. A very cute name, but I feel it'd suit an adult too.

If it were me, I'd use Suki but with a 'normal' middle name e.g Emma.

Thank you...much more polite than I was. I dislike Lyric ( pretentious ) Fawn (makes me think beige) Marianne (Sneaky thief at school )
Emma is boring
Amanda is his mum's name
Suki was his first childhood dog!!!!
Why are men determined to be so difficult?
I've developed a crush on Zada. WDYT?

Emma is lovely, not keep on the rest at all.

I like Amanda and Marianne - not the others.

Lyric sounds like an alias to me, not a name. Fawn I can't see any positives for, Suki sounds like a nickname, and also like Sulky. A personal bias on Emma - every Emma I've ever met has always been huffy and not worth knowing!

Marianne or Emma. Amanda is ok too. I prefer Suki as a nn for Susannah.

Lyric - nope. Sounds like random noun, or conceived during a trip to The theatre
Fawn - nope
Emma - lovely
Amanda - fine
Marianne - lovely
Suki - OK as NN (Susan, Suzanne, Susannah) if stand alone prefer the spelling Sukey.

Is it too late to LTB?

Lyric - ridiculous
Fawn - porn name
Emma - I think I've just fallen asleep
Amanda - 1980s
Marianne - OK but a bit bleh
Suki - not only a box of juice, but very close to Sucky.

I'm not keen on Zada, it's a bit Emperor Ming. What else do you like, OP?

Report
burgatroyd · 14/12/2014 17:59

Op, it sounds like you're in the faze of cycling through 'unusual' and random names because you and dh want to agree on something already! I went through something like this with my DH and came up with something completely random which we then changed Xmas Confused

I like Emma and Marianne from his list. Dislike the others.
I also dislike Zada. It doesn't sound like a real name.
