Imogen, sounds grounded & classical like Louisa.

Well my favourite on your list is Cassie but I don't think it goes with Louisa.

Imogen does though. I'd go with that.

Imogen is beautiful and goes perfectly with Louisa.

Not a fan of Caitlin or Cassie - they seem overused and dated. Annabel is a little...cow-like?

Maia is pretty but I don't think it goes well with Louisa.

I think Imogen would be a great choice Smile

I agree Imogen goes best.

Other suggestions: we have DD1 Eloise (similar to Louisa) and DD2 will be Cecily I think. We also considered Mia, Romilly, Annabel, Sylvie, Madeleine, Cara.

Maia or Annabel. I only like Cassie as a nickname for Cassandra.

Aw I know Caitlin and Cassie don't go as well with Louisa but for some reason I can't let go of them!

Do you think Imogen is 'pretty' enough??

Minipie I'd actually thought of Sylvie before but discounted it for some reason but I do really like it now I'm seeing it again. Surname starts with S though so might that be a problem I wonder?

I think Imogen is a fabulous name and my favourite by a long way from your list.

I like Caitlin, even though in England it's usually pronounced as Kate-lyn which I've been told is incorrect.

Not a fan of Cassie, as it sounds as though it is a nn, perhaps for Karen.

Cassie is a great name OP (I have one Grin ). And you don't have to give a full name. I hate that old MN High Court Judge argument Hmm.

Hate Cassandra and the even poncier Cassiopeia. My Cassie is named after my great aunt Catherine. Cassie was an old nn for Catherine in Ireland. I've never heard of it as a nn for Karen.

I don't like Caitlin. As an Irish person I see it as a name 3rd generation Irish Americans call their daughters. Like Erin. Not keen at all.

Imogen. I never know how to pronounce Mia/Maia/Maya and there are millions of them about these days. Boring IMO.

Sorry to be in the minority here, but I really dislike Imogen, makes me think of engines, and its not pretty like Louisa.

I like Maia best... I haven't come across millions of them, either!

Imogen is by far the nicest x

How about Cassia instead of Cassie?

Report
pilates · 08/12/2014 17:16

Imogen, not keen on the rest.

Caitlin and Cassie for Louisa. The others not so much.

squoosh · 08/12/2014 17:23

Caitlin - not a huge fan
Cassie - really like
Imogen - like
Maia - really dislike, such a wishy washy sound
Annabel - far too pony club for me.

I like Cassie best.

Cassie is sweet and sassy.

Blackberryandnettle I do like Cassia but think prefer just Cassie.

We did also have Rebecca, Isabelle, Georgia and Charlotte on our list but either me or DH seem to have gone off each of them over the last while. They all probably fit better style-wise with Louisa mind you! Just want to find something as pretty, classic and sweet as Louisa which also has a great nickname if poss as we call Louisa Lulu some of the time.

A vote for Imogen here too.

Imogen is the only one that goes well with Louisa. The others seem very different names. Having said that, I don't particularly like Imogen! It is a bit ugly IMO. Louisa is such a pretty, classic name. How about...

Mariella
Beatrice
Eleanor/Elinor
Anneliese
Josephine
Cecily/Cecile
Coraline/Cora

If Cassie had Cassandra as the gull name then Cass/ie and Lulu would be nice.

I dislike the name Imogen but it goes with Louisa, style wise.

I think Annabel goes very well too.

Katherine and Louisa would be nice. Caitlin is an Irish diminutive of Katherine. You could have Kate/Kitty/Katy and Lulu.

Suggestions:
Louisa and Keziah (Keziah and Cassia are variants)
Louisa and Francesca
Louisa and Helena
Louisa and Caroline
Louisa and Clara
Louisa and Cecelia
Louisa and Theodora
Louisa and Miranda
Louisa and Katherine
Louisa and Harriet
Louisa and Tessa or Tess
Louisa and Tamsin

I love the suggestion of Josephine.

Agree with others that Imogen goes best from your list, but it's not quite as pretty a name as Louisa.

I echo math's suggestion of Katherine/Catherine because it's a lovely name, goes well with Louisa and has lots of diminutives.

Other suggestions which I don't think anyone else has mentioned:

Louisa & Jessica
Louisa & Marianne

Catherine is actually my middle name so I don't know if I would feel right using it for one daughter if the other has no family names?

I'd forgotten about Tessa, it's a definite possibility I reckon.
Both me and DH like Jessica but I have a friend with one plus it was number 9 here last year which is maybe a wee bit too popular. I like Marianna actually but DH has already vetoed!
We both quite like Olivia? It was number 15 last year but I could live with that! I like the idea of lulu and livvy.
This is such a hard decision!!

Imogen, as it's such a gorgeous, pretty name...but then I'm biased. ??
