Just found out today we are having another girl!! DD1 is Louisa and we are finding it hard to think of another name we love as much. Please give your opinions on our list so far and we would also love any other suggestions you might have!

So far we have

Rebecca
Charlotte
Elsa
Lara
Georgia
Megan
Bethany

We probably like some of those better than the others but don't think there's a particular front runner yet.
Thank you! x

I would rule out elsa as I don't think it sounds right with Louisa

Bethany is probably my favourite

Charlotte and Georgia are my favourite from your list, lovely names.

Yep I wasn't sure about Elsa with Louisa in case they were too similar. It's a shame I really love it!

Can't use Anna although its lovely. Funny I'd thought of Lauren before but kinda forgotten about it so might put it back on the list!

Oh I did have Clara on the list but had kind of gone off it a wee bit but it is lovely. Love Alice but surname starts with S so it doesn't sound quite right together.

I adore Louisa but it didn't go with our surname.

My other favourites...
Julia
Marianne
Rachel
Hannah
Kate

What about Cora? It's my current fav. Or Clarissa? Or Camilla?

Report
Sparkleheart · 29/11/2014 21:25

I like Rachel but its my friend's name so would feel funny about using it!

That's funny NancyJones, DH vetoed Camilla just earlier today! Cora is nice but my friend used it recently.
Ugh naming a second girl is so hard!!

Ha! My DH vetoed it too! I think Cam is a nice nn. I also quite like Clementine pronounced 'een' at the end with the nn, Clem or Clemmie but DH was having none of it. Grin

Think I would avoid another 'a' ending.

Or different sounds
Louisa and Dulcie
Louisa and Adeline
Louisa and Evelyn (nn Eve, Evie)
Louisa and Faye

Charlotte or Megan would be my choice.
Definitely avoid another A ending.

Louisa and Josephine sounds nice too. Or Audrey?

Gugglebum · 29/11/2014 21:56

Georgia and Charlotte are my favourites. Two 'a' endings doesn't bother me since the syllable count would be different, they wouldn't sound too rhyme-y or alike. I've got 5 boys and one girl, I would love the difficulty of naming a second girl! Grin

Louisa and Lara is a bit of a mouthful. I like Elsa and Georgia

Report
Sparkleheart · 29/11/2014 22:16

Ooh I like Imogen and Talia!

Cupcakes123 I LOVE Emily but I must know at least 5 little Emily's under 2 so I just can't use it!

Hmm I never thought about it not being good to have both names ending in 'a', food for thought!

Georgia is the nicest from your list- beautiful. Charlotte is nice the rest are ok not really my taste. I like Clara and Camilla as others have mentioned

I would only worry about the names ending in a 'a' if they were both the same amount of syllables but Louisa with Georgia is fine. Think they flow nicely

Sparkleheart · 29/11/2014 22:20

Georgia was on our list for DD1 and tbh I thought it would be a definite if we ever had another girl but now we are, I just don't know if its 'pretty' enough? Like it looks prettier than it sounds iykwim?!

Gabrielle?

Report
Sparkleheart · 29/11/2014 22:22

Mind you, half of Georgia's appeal is the possibility of using Gigi as a nickname as we call Louisa Lulu sometimes. I think lulu and Gigi is so cute!!
