What would you have?

Cocolate Sat 22-Nov-14 12:31:35

I think he should've stuck with Rachel - Emily was way too whiney

So actual list is Sienna, Matilda ( the names I like) and my husband likes Rachel or Emily? Least his names are traditional...

Oops coco! I actually just got your joke! Ha!

Panzee Sat 22-Nov-14 12:38:42

I was going to say Rachel because she got off the plane. Emily didn't (although she did fly straight back again) grin

Although I think I like Rachel better as a name too. smile

NoisyLittleToads Sat 22-Nov-14 12:48:37

Rachel is a great name.

shakemysilliesout Sat 22-Nov-14 13:44:44

I prefer your husbands name choices and I prefer Rachel. I know loads of baby Matilda's and sienna had a bit if a bashing on the other thread.

sillymillyb Sat 22-Nov-14 13:50:28

I like Rachel and Matilda. Sienna is not my cup of tea at all, and there are loads of Emily's in the world now (I am one of them grin)

Findingthisdifficult1234 Sat 22-Nov-14 14:04:08

Sienna really did get quite a bit of bashing didnt it haha! Yea I like that my husbands names are traditional and pretty...

Rachel. I know three lovely Rachels but of the two Emilys that I know, one is dull and boring and the other is two faced.
Sorry to any lovely Emilys out there, I've just not met one yet.

Chunderella Sat 22-Nov-14 16:25:54

I really like Rachel, but Emily is perhaps more 'now'. All the Rachels I know were born in the 80s! Maybe because I was...

LinaDee Sat 22-Nov-14 16:29:00

I am due in May. Emily is our girls name for this baby smile

Mumraathenoisylion Sat 22-Nov-14 16:38:14

Emily is better in all ways.

wadjet78 Sat 22-Nov-14 17:18:03

Definitely Emily.

ralinax294 Sat 22-Nov-14 17:26:35

Rachel.

MiddletonPink Sat 22-Nov-14 22:39:19

Rachel is pretty dated. Bit like Samantha and Natalie.
Emily is ok.

Bluestocking Sat 22-Nov-14 22:42:46

Both are lovely classic names, you can't go wrong whichever you choose. Emily might just slightly have the edge because you can shorten it to Em or Emmy - no-one wants to be called Rach!

pud1 Sat 22-Nov-14 22:53:04

you are asking me to choose between my name and my dds ......

so who has better taste, me or my parents.

Devora Sat 22-Nov-14 22:56:25

Emily is very popular at the moment. I love the name Rachel and wanted it for my dd, but nobody else seemed to like it and I got cold feet. I think it is a FANTASTIC name and overdue for a revival.

Emily is a bit insipid; Rachel is a strong woman's name.

Have you read 'My Cousin Rachel' by Daphne du Maurier?

[Racks brain to think of other ways to persuade of the obvious superiority of Rachel to all other names.]

Oh, and your dh's name choices are way better than yours. Sorry grin

Devora Sat 22-Nov-14 22:56:48

pud1 - your parents.

Findingthisdifficult1234 Sat 22-Nov-14 23:05:56

Oh I don't know what to have!!! Leaning more toward Rachel, I still like Sienna too!

Devora Sat 22-Nov-14 23:23:27

Rachel Sienna then!

Go on - be a trendsetter!

Bluestocking Sat 22-Nov-14 23:30:07

Another vote for Rachel Sienna! But you need to see what your daughter looks like when she arrives - she might look more like a Rachel, or more like an Emily!
