Baby names

Toby, Edward or something else?

We liked Toby for a DS or otherwise Edward, I'm torn between the two. We'd settled on Toby but recently I've heard it around a lot and also realised we have a family connection with a Toby and a daughter with a very similar name to our DD - not close enough to stop me using it but it has made me wonder again about other names.

Any other suggestions appreciated! Middle name will probably be one of Alexander, Jonathan, Robert or David.

Definitely Edward. I'm not keen on Toby.

Yes, I hear the name Toby everywhere at the moment! Only know one Edward. A more classic name IMO.

What about Edmund? Or Miles? ( in the same bracket as Toby to my ears but nicer and less common) Miles goes well with all your middle names.

I much prefer Edward to Toby. It goes will all your middle name choices too.

I liked both of those names when we had ds2 but dh didn't so we ended up with Joseph, which I love as well. I prefer Ned to Joe as a nickname though and my da2 would be a lovely Ned. So Edward would be my choice with Alexander as the middle name.

I like Edward better than Toby.

All your middle names are great.

Thanks for your replies, interesting to know others are hearing Toby around a fair bit too. Thanks for suggestions - Miles sounds odd with our surname but will consider the others.

I love Edward much more than Toby.

I've only come across one small Toby though, it's not a popular name where I live.
