So we've decided on Edward.
We initially thought we'd use the nickname Ted, but I dislike the popularity of Teddy. My sister suggested Woody, which I much prefer.
What nicknames do you like for Edward?

Lovely name, and I like Ted too. Ed or Eddie also perfectly fine.

Don't go for Bear though, whatever you do - awful!!

Meant to add, I'm not sure where you get Woody from, and it seems a bit contrived (like Bear)

I have a ted and also love ned as a nickname. I know one but it's less common.
Woody is fab. It's an obvious nickname but not very common!

Woody. No. Makes me think of rude things.

Ed, Ted or Teddy are fine.

I have an Edward, he is known as Eddie. Not keen on Woody.

I like Ned, followed by Ted.

Don't like Ed or Eddie.

Woody is a slang term for an erection. In Australia, at least.

I have an Edward. We wanted the nn Ed or Ned.
He refuses to be called anything other than Edward grin
So, whatever you want to call him he may not agree.

I like Ted, Ed and Eddie.

Ned is OK but not keen on Teddy or Neddy.

Woody is awful and it is not just in Australia that it is slang for an erection.

Nicknames are very difficult to control though. As someone once said on these boards, the only name you get to pick is the one that goes on the birth certificate.
