I may only be 4 weeks but DH and I have been talking about names for months and months way before we started ttc!

We are set on boys name and are pretty sure on girls but honest advice would be great.

Girl: Wren (family middle name)
Boy: Rupert (family middle name)

We have a three syllable surname beginning with M.

We also considered Cherry for a girl but we like Wren better at the moment!

I love Rupert.

Prefer Wren to Cherry but not overly keen on either tbh. Although I like the fact they are both unusual!

Love Rupert. I really like Wren but prefer it for a middle name. Cherry is awful, imvho.

Thank you both! We really liked cherry for ages but think we both sort of gone off it now. Got a whole yet so will ponder wren... We are set on Rupert though so glad that one seems to be a winner. It is good to test them out first!

Cherry will get 'pop' your cherry.

Wren is OK. As above poster said it gets points for being unusual but also simple.

How about Shirley, Yolanda, Blythe, Skye, Tamar (prn Tay mar)?

Quite like Wren as a middle name but not a first name.

Really dislike Rupert. Tis a posh boy name imho.

Good job we all like different things Smile

I love Wren. I'm not so keen on Rupert, but I hate all boy names, so that's hardly surprising Wink

Although saying that, I do think Roo is super cute as a nickname, so there is that too Smile

I love both. I wanted Rupert but baby ended up being a girl anyway. There was a Wren on my ward and it sounded so lovely every time I heard the parents say her name

Mixed opinions! Yes we are agreed Rupert would be Roo as a nn. Good point re popping your cherry, hadn't thought of that! I was just thinking of cherry cake! Lol and I suppose Rupert being posh isn't so bad as my DH family are exceedingly posh so would probably fit in well with that side of family t least ;)

Eek, I love Cherry... My mums name is Cherri and dc2s Middle name is also Cherri. I seriously considered using it as a first name. Not sure on Wren but I think it's a grower iyswim? I think Rupert is cool. I have a friend who calls her hubby Rupes...

Rupert is dreadful.

Wren, well, is better than Cherry.

Rupert is like Tim nice but dim. Probably an estate agent.... Like Roo though! How about Reuben?

I like the name Cherry. Sweet and jolly! Not keen on Wren or Rupert though. Just goes to show how different we all are in our tastes.

Cherry is a stripper name, please no!

Wren and Rupert are nice. :)

LOVE both.

Both were on our lists!

Wren would have been a serious contender but our surname also ends with -en so it didn't really work.

We have two DDs (Hazel & Celeste) out of interest.

I knew a Wren with siblings called Tennessee and Cedar :)

I'm looking for a name for DC3...it's so hard, isn't it?

I like Rupert but the girls names are not my cup of tea

Congrats though! Just realised post sounded a bit blunt

I love Wren.

I hate Rupert. I imagine a Rupert to be a chinless posh sort unburdened by an excess of brain cells.
