Stephanie? Too dated?

Hard to please OH thinks Stephanie/Steph is the way to go. Is it dated and a bit blah, or pretty and refreshing in the midst of a granny chic pandemic?

I quite like it. It's pretty, but I don't like 'Steph'.

No Stephanie is lovely - classic and every other little girl in her class will be called Ella, Ava or Sienna so she will be different lol xx

Thanks Grin quite liking crapfatbanana haha she'd be the only one in her class!

Thanks Brenda, it does have the not ending in 'a' or 'ie' in it's favour! hehe

I would have killed to have been called Stephanie when I was a kid. Still like it.

CormoranStrike · 10/11/2014 23:21

Just to point out it does end in 'ie' Grin

Smukogrig · 10/11/2014 23:23

I like it.

Sophisticated and pleasingly uncommon I would say... Know a grownup Stefanie (a German Steffi) and some little ones too..?

Floggingmolly · 10/11/2014 23:25

How did you do that tiny little smilie, poppy??

SoonToBeSix · 10/11/2014 23:26

How about Percephone to avoid Steph.

Sorry op I don't have anything against Steph .I misread that it was another poster and not yourself that didn't like it.

No need to apologise Soontobe! That's why I'm here, I'm unsure ?? I'm genuinely grateful for the suggestion and your taking the time to post

Hmm my attempt at emulating poppys smilie failed miserably. It shows nothing but diamond question mark thingies to highlight my fail Grin

I like it - everyone will know how to pronounce it, how to spell it, that she is a girl, and yet she will be likely to be the only one in her class / groups she joins. All qualifying criteria for me to choose a name Smile

I think it's quite nice. I would use it

Report
TsukuruTazaki · 11/11/2014 00:47

I find it very plain and dated - such an 80s name and I would be shocked to see a baby Stephanie. Nothing wrong with it as such, it's not offensive, but there are so many nicer names!

AmeliaPeabody · 11/11/2014 00:53

It is very 80s. I immediately thought of Stephanie Beacham

Hmm so a bit of a mixed response there, ladies. Thanks for all your thoughts and opinions Smile So does anyone have any alternative ideas? I'm a bit boggled Grin
