These are our current main contenders for DC3. Any views? Thanks in advance.

Aw, bless his cotton fangs Smile Does he get nicknames or mostly stay Robin?

I have a Seth. Seems to be universally hated on here but I love it.

Robin! Great name!

Sometimes nursery used to spell it with a 'Y' but they were dafties.

Just Robin, or Robaloba-lino!

Currently pg with number 2, I do like Seth for a boy!

Is Seth hated on here? Why- because it's a bit Emmerdale?

Robin! Love it.

I would have said yes to Seth before I started working with a really irritating one.

Now I say Rory as I know lots of cool adult Rorys.

Robin is nice though, especially gummy Robin at the start of the thread.

Rory is the only one I like out of the three.

Love Robin. It's on my list for DC3 (we have similar tastes I think, I remember an earlier thread). Rory is also good. Seth is Cold Comfort Farm for me, wouldn't pick it personally but it's a nice enough name.

I like Seth, but my mum has warned me off it because of emmerdale!! Probably should ignore that though!

I don't think there has been a Seth on Emmerdale since the 80's.

All 3 are fab! I prefer Seth, no real reason why. Definitely have no soap connotations to it. Can't use it myself as it causes lisp-inception with our surname, which is a pity. Fil was called Robin, he was always just Robin, even his brother called him Robin. I know a Rory who always gets Ror anyway - no way of guessing nicknames imo.

I wouldn't choose any of them.

Robin! Seth is ok, but I'm not keen on Rory.

I love Robin. Not used enough on boys IMO. Do it!

I like Seth as well.

I have a Robin :) he is 10 months. We get a lot of compliments on his name plus I only know 2 others (one is 30 and the other 60 something) which is partly why we liked it!

I love Robin and Seth - Rory is nice but doesn't jump out as 'great names' like the other two.

I also like Rowan, which maybe fits with your list?

Robin has such lovely images - are you due in Winter?

Seth feels outdoorsy and carpenter-ish, which I love in a boys name.

I love all three though I have always wondered if Robin might be a bit cutesy for a grown man (though guess they can be rob). I love Seth but agree it seems to be disliked on here - something about hellfire preachers which is odd as mist old testament names are popular. Rory is nice but somehow quite difficult to say and possibly more likely to come acl others in the class

Thanks all. I am drawn to Seth the most strongly. Problem is it's similar to my nephew's name so may need a chat with SIL to see if she's be offended or fear confusion!

I have a one year old Robin and we get lots of compliments on his name. Not too many of them around yet not too unusual. My robin is such a smiley little soul. We don't shorten it to anything (yet) although he gets called bobbins quite a lot by his siblings!

There was a thread the other day about loathed names and Seth featured quite prominently but IRL I have always had loads of compliments about it.
