Me: what do you think we should call your new baby sister?
DS (9): (unhesitatingly) Canada.
Me: why???
DS: because she'll never get teased; nearly EVERYONE likes Canada.

?????!!!!?????

So what would your DCs call their new sibling given half a chance?

I'd pick North Korea. Yes it's a bit divisive but it would make more of an impact than dull old Canada.

People would think you were a fan of Kanye West though. What about Grand Canyon? I think that's a pretty taunt-proof name right there.

Beef Melon is just grand. Prime Minister material.

Beef Melon is a good bold name. Round and meaty, like many babies.

As the land I inhabit, I can say that Canada is not dull!

There was a family a while ago in my local paper where the mum had got pregnant unexpectedly. She had older children and asked the children what they thought and what the baby should be called. In true teenager style they replied 'cool'. So Cool it is. I think he must be about 10 now.

'Dull' was the wrong word. I should have said 'too stable'.

dc1 (then 11yo) wanted to call dc4 Asterix because she thought it would be funny Hmm She was the first to suggest the name we would end up using for dc3 though (Penelope).

A girl would be CeeCee and a boy Fark according to our three year old. Who is sure it's a boy. Fark is the word that Daddy says when all the Rice Krispies end up on the floor.

Anyone else think Asterix could be the new Atticus?

She swore we wouldn't get confused but we didn't believe her.
