Found out I'm having a boy, due in November.
Please have a look at my list and let me know what you think!

Reuben
Rufus
Sebastian

Any new suggestions are also welcome Smile

I like Reuben best from your list, but had to go back to your post to check the spelling.

Reuben and Rufus both set off immediate word associations in my head. Sorry but you may not like them. Rufus Hound, comedian and the Reuben Sandwich (hot corned beef and cheese)

Sebastian doesn't set anything off. I like Seb, despite it being Lord Coe's name.

What's the initial of your surname and are you thinking of having a middle name?

Well i'm biased because if DD1 had been a boy she would be Sebastian and if we have a DS1 we will use it!
Not overly keen on the other 2 - but at a push would go with Rufus, really not a fan of Reuben...

Rufus, such a strong grown up name. I like Rupert too.

Reuben is not to my taste.
Sebastian is a bit wanky.
I'd go for Rufus.

Lawrence?

Thank you for comments.

Not sure yet about a middle name, all depends on what first name we choose! Our second name is 9 letters long, slightly worried Sebastian Surname will be too much, but really love the name.

Like Tobias, DH not keen.

LEM I'm guessing you meant 'sounds like a dogs name' and I've always had that niggling, even though I really like the name Confused

This is hard work!

Sebastian is quite poncey IMO. Rowan is rather nice, my sons name.

I love all of them, which isn't terribly helpful I know. I think Reuben or Sebastian would be my first choice, but you can't go wrong with any of them IMHO.

Reuben.

Rufus is a dogs' name. Sebastian is pretentious and foppish, I loathe it.

Reuben and Sebastian are both quite boring and very overused.
Rufus is cute though.

I like Reuben the best. Sebastian is ok, but Rufus is a dogs name.

I like Rufus best, then Reuben then Sebastian but all nice names in my opinion Smile .

Rufus Rufus Rufus Rufus!! Ben could be seen as a dog's name, just as Felix and Tabitha get called cats names. Still lovely and not uncommon. Rufus is a known name, but still manages slightly quirky and masculine. That's alot of tricky boxes ticked right there haha

Quite alot of little Reubens toddling around, which baffles me. Not to my taste at all.

Sebastian is lost as a name to me, since it was a friend's screen name during his stint as a gay porn star. Not knocking anyone's career choice, but indelible association in my brain!!

Rufus definitely my top pick. Great name - manages to sound masculine, rakishly boyish and creative/arty at the same time (can you tell it's on my shortlist?!).

Reuben's OK but I'm not desperately excited by it, and Sebastian has always sounded frilly and wet to me, and a bit self-consciously posh.

Don't get the dog thing with Rufus btw - I've met far more dogs called things like Ben, Jack, Chloe, Sophie and Molly (love Tabitha too, which apparently is only suitable for cats, and Clover, which only works for cows or rabbits Smile).

Reuben is fine - Biblical names are fashionable now, too.

I like Rufus. As I'm sure you know, it originally meant 'red-haired'.

I quite like Sebastian but hate the nickname Seb.

Sebastian is the best from your list. It's a classic name that won't date, whereas the other two are a bit trendy so might seem naff in a few years time.

I love name Sebastian!! Reuben is ok. But Rufus sounds like a name of a grandpa(( can't imagine little cute babyboy with name Rufus((

Reuben - really like that & it would probably be on our shortlist except it doesn't go with our surname.

Sebastian is ok but also don't like Sen.

Dislike Rufus sorry.
