We're looking for a girls name. DD is Mollie (Please don't be mean about her name- I loves it and I'm a weepy pregnant lady) looking for something that goes with this.
I have no ideas! Did like Eliza but I don't like Liza as an abbreviation any suggestion most welcome.
Thanks!

What about Elsie - I love it, or Ivy.

I have always been in a minority of one when it comes to Sybil but I'm throwing it out there for you to consider. A Mollie and a Sybil sounds good to me.

Why would you shorten Eliza to Liza? IEliza wouldn't even be Ellie, just Eliza.

I know one Molly. She's thirty and I loved her name when I first heard it. Made me think of Ulysses.

To differentiate I'd choose a name without the y or ie ending.

Vera
Anna
Tegwen, Tiggy nn.
Faith
Tamsin
Nell
Nora
Bethan

I agree that I would avoid other y or ie endings. I like Mollie and:

Hannah
Emma
Rosa/Rosanna
Edith
Flora
Clara
Annabel

Thank you! Some lovely suggestions to take back to DH. Not allowed a Nora unfortunately- Aunty Nora's deathbed request that no one was to be inflicted with her name!

Mollie is a gorgeous name and I agree that Annabel would compliment it nicely. Love Eliza too and don't think it would ever be shortened to Liza.

Rtfairy - a number of Eliza's we know are shortened to 'Liza', sorry.

Both my grannies were Molly. One Margaret; one Mary. Great name.

traditionally they would go with queens' names like Elizabeth; Jane; Anne; Victoria;

But you could take a Jane Austen approach and have Lydia; Francis; Georgina; Isobel; Emily; Lucy (Lucinda) for instance

I have a Molly too and I'd decided on Rosa for dc2 if it was a girl, but I'm having a boy and have no idea what to call him!
