Hello everyone.

DS3 is due next month and DP and I struggle to agree on names. The shortlist is as follows and I just can't imagine making a decision as they are all pretty different and we had one or two names ready for the other two, which seemed much easier..

Magnus
Rex
Calvin (DP's favourite but I waver with it)
Jonas/Jonah
Gene
Remy
Rowan

Any other suggestions gratefully received, thanks everyone.

Out of your list I like Jonas/Jonah the best. Actively dislike Calvin.

I do like Rowan, but I'm plagued with Mr Bean references. What about Rohan as an alternative?

Magnus or Jonas.

My favourite is Rowan/Rohan, Magnus could be lovely.

Calvin makes me think either "... and Hobbes" (which would be fun) or strict Protestantism.

From the others on your list, I like Rex, Magnus and Rowan.

Other names at popped into my mind reading your list are: Kingsley, Maximillian, Joel, Raphael, Jeremiah

I only like Calvin or Rowan.

I'd go with Rex :)

I like Magnus best.
Rex is great.
Gene is one I can't make up my mind about. I know some really nerdy Eugenes. But even Eugene sounds less awful to me than it did 20 years ago.
Rowan is too unisex for my style.
Remy is a drink is it not? sounds feminine anyway.
Jonas / Jonah - both ok but I think the fashion for bible names is on its way out so bible names will sound very dated (don't eat me, just my opinion)
Calvin is ok but has a religious feel to it that I can't embrace. It is OK though.

What about Howie, Victor or Donald. They sound quirky in the style of Eugene.

Thanks everyone.

AuntieStella I really like Raphael and Joel but DP doesn't.

Other two are Samson (sam) and Laurie if that helps..

Really like Remy and Jonah, might get Joe as a nn though if that'd bother you?

My favourite are Jonah and Rowan. Really like them actually. Jonah was on our shortlist but we had three girls!

I love Rohan. It would ensure ro-ann pronunciation rather than r-ow-an like the tree which I dislike.

I love Samson and Rowan.

Magnus is lovely - I'd pick that one! In fact, why not Magnus Rex?

Agree with Opies about Rowan.

I also like Gene - but personally I'd worry kids would call him Jean, as in a 'girl's name', even though that probably doesn't worry Liam Gallagher's son ...

I really don't like Magnus or Rex - sound like obnoxious London estate agents to me
Calvin - really like this (but am biased)
Remy and Rowan - really like both of these and considered them but couldn't use as have a bit of a lisp.

My vote is for Magnus or Rex.

My favourite is Calvin.

Easy to spell and pronounce, is a proper name but uncommon.

Is the name Jonah associated with bad luck - ie., "he's an awful Jonah"
