So we have finally decided on Annabel for dd2.

Our other children are called Charlotte & Oliver. Although I'm not that keen on pretty flower names in general, I have always liked Poppy. I won't use it as a 1st name for various reasons but what do you think about it as a middle name?

Annabel Poppy (surname begins with F and has 3 syllables)

2 issues - irritatingly my sil has just called her dog, Poppy...also I know my mum hates the name. Do I really care, it's a middle name fgs and our choice!??! I regret not using it as dd1's mn.

It's lovely and goes well together. Go for it.

Your baby your choice.

Its lovely. i think you can afford to be a little bit more adventurous with the middle name.

I wanted to call dd Lola or Liesel, and still regret being talked out of it.

I think it's a beautiful name! I love Annabel anyway, and am also quite fond of Poppy but like you would only use it as a middle name. I think they sound wonderful together. It's your choice, not your mum's, and it is only the middle name, not the name your mum will be required to call her anyway.
