Overdue with DD and still not decided on a name.
She's been Lolly since 20 weeks and that will be hard to shake.
We originally liked Florence, but seems be gaining in popularity pretty fast so wondered about Floren?

Sounds a bit odd...how about Flora or Fleur?

I have a Florence-I was annoyed at it growing in popularity too but there's so many variations-one of which is Floren & you can still call her lolly!

Congrats btw :)

What about Florian?

meditrina · 12/05/2014 19:24

Floren, Florin and Florian are all traditionally boys names (especially on mainland Europe). Are you OK with that?

How about Floella?

It's supposed to mean flourishing or blossoming.

Florentina is beautiful!

Florina is pretty and unusual, but still sounds like obviously a girl's name. The Florina I know is Romanian, so it might be more common in Eastern Europe.

I work with a Florrin (male) and a Florentina both lovely names I think!

lanny I love your choice of Dolly! How has that gone down with people? Not that it bloody matters, I just wondered. Think MIL will disown me if I register her Lolly as apparently she needs a 'proper' name!
I think Floren is suitable for either a boy or girl, more so girls these days.
Oh I don't know, can't really decide until we see her. She's being very fashionably late now!
Anyone know any suitable variations of the name little minx?!

I have a friend called Laura, everyone calls her Lolly

I think if you call her Floren, people will be forever mis~hearing it and thinking her name is Lauren.

Just go for Florence, it's not that popular is it? Gorgeous name. Floren is fine but i just think 'ss' after it. If I were you I'd go for either the name you love best regardless of popularity etc or something completely other that you love nearly as much.
