Dominic or Jonathan

Wildhorses123 Thu 27-Mar-14 12:26:08

I like both, but think Dominic has the edge.

hmm I say Jonathan too.

BellaVida Thu 27-Mar-14 12:30:49

Jonathan- I just think Dominic sounds harsher and I prefer the short versions of Jonathan.

Both are good. You can't go wrong

BlessedAssurance Thu 27-Mar-14 12:47:20

Thanks everyone. We like them both and that's where the problem lies. DH likes Dominic better but would go for the other as well. I like Jonathan and would not mind Dominic so decided to see which one gets more votesgrin. I am 40+4 weeks today so we need to get going..

Another option is of course to wait and meet him then decide but right now i just wanted other people's opinions. thanks again.

Seems Jonathan is the front runnersmile.

Whatever goes best with your surname as they are both good.

Jonathan is so wet and spineless and insipid.

missmysexybody Thu 27-Mar-14 13:01:16

Much prefer Dominic, it sounds cool, stylish and edgy. Im with your DH on this one : )

Innogen Thu 27-Mar-14 13:27:17

John is far nicer than Dom.

Thank you again. Surname is Lund and we have a middle name, Elias. So, is it Dominic Elias or Jonathan Elias?. Decisions, decisions.

Claryrocks Thu 27-Mar-14 20:42:46

Dominic for me.

Ruprekt Thu 27-Mar-14 20:43:25

I think it goes better with your surname too.

SusanBlinker Thu 27-Mar-14 20:49:38

Dominic. Nearly called dc3 Dominic but changed our minds at the lady minute.

SusanBlinker Thu 27-Mar-14 20:50:42

What the hell is a lady minute?? I meant last minute of course.

Bowlersarm Thu 27-Mar-14 20:53:29

Would you shorten or not?

If you are trying to keep the name whole then Dominic.

If you don't mind shortened names then Jonathan nn Johnny.

wigglesrock Thu 27-Mar-14 21:00:32

Dominic - this was one of my "boy names", its now been retired. I think it's lovely smile

Jonathan - not so much. I love John but I can't have Jonny/ Johnny at all, so it would really put me off.

AddUpToNothing Thu 27-Mar-14 21:02:14

Dominic for me. Though I did date a Jonathan known as Jonnie, so I do have a bit of a soft spot for the name!

CuttedUpGrape Thu 27-Mar-14 21:06:23

Jonathan!!! My Jonathan is 2.5 so slightly biased but it's a fab name!
