Sarah There was a thread here just a few days about Scottish names. Mumsnetters came up with quite a few, and the poster - who was in a rather similar situation to the one you describe - found that there were some she rather liked.

To find it, just scroll down to page 2 of this topic. The thread was called 'Scottish names' and the last entry was on 7 March .

I don't know any Scottish names really except William. Why do they have to be Scottish?

What flora said, you might surprise yourself and find one you like :-)

What about Gregory? I think it has a similar feel to Francis and is also very close to the more Scottish Gregor?

What is your older DS called? It sometimes helps to give an idea of your 'taste' as it were smile.

Alexander and James are always good strong names - as is Andrew.

I wouldn't opt for Kyle if you are living in England though.

Arlo.
I hate this name but it is scottish I think.

Arlo is Anglo-saxon. You might be thinking of Ivo?

How can you hate Arlo? shock
