Not looking for massive lists! Just the chance for us to praise some names that we like among our children's friends.

Some great ones:

There's a little girl my son went to nursery school with called Angelica shortened to Angie. I thought "Angie" was a bit middle aged at first but it really grew on me and I think Angelica is lovely. I also know of a Laurel which I think is very sweet and a bit more unique than Lauren

Posy
Maude (it shouldn't suit a two year old blonde toddler - it does though)
Cicely Beth (not hyphenated, but known as Cicely Beth all the same)

Daithi (pr. 'Dawhee') - Irish for David, I believe
Theo - but only because his nickname is Bear and it suits him to a tee

I also know a Namibian family who started to call their little boy "Button" when they got to the UK because they loved the sound...however he does have a full official name, which I don't know as he only goes by Button :)

A friend is pregnant at the moment and has told me if baby is a girl she will be an Ellis, which at first I was Hmm but now I love the sound...even though it is usually used for boys...

Some great names on this thread

I work in a school and see a lot of names coming through, i love Tyger, Honey, Dahlia, Paloma, and we have a very cool little year 3 boy called Winston, winnie for short :)

My current favourite is a young girl called 'precious'. When i saw it written down i thought 'really?' But she could not be anything else!
