I think 'What do you think?' is great, not too popular but everyone's heard of it.

Yep, I can't imagine anyone~ asking to see his light sabre.

You think children are going to realise that?
Not unless their parents have an influence on teaching their child how to bully.

There is no way on this planet that someone called Obi will make it through a single day without a Star Wars comment.

You must know that!

My cousins are called:

Hudson
Presley
Gable
Niven

and they dont seem to get anything.

What about Coby/Cobie instead?
I quite like Obie, but I agree that the Star Wars references will come thick and fast.

squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:45

Well then you should follow family tradition and call your child Guinness or MacGregor!

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:45

I think Cobie is more of a black name.
It reminds me of the basketball player

Oh does it? My dh's friend is Coby and he's a pasty Scotsman - always thought it suited him. Oh well.

I don't believe you OP. Your cousins cannot have those names. (If they do Obi looks a bit tame tbh) He will get Star Wars comments though. And confused with Toby, Coby.

Hudson
Presley
Gable
Niven

With middle names Rock, Elvis, Clark and David presumably??

Confused

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:49

My cousins do have those names.
Oh well I will have to make him like Star Wars and carry a light saber around.

LeslieKnope, unfortunately she never took it that far!
But no surprising thats who they are named after.

I think your cousins names aren't as obvious for teasing as Obie is, because of the Star Wars thing.

Report
becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:51

I would have thought Elvis was a lot more popular than Star Wars though

Kids nowadays have no idea who Elvis Presley is. Not so Obi Wan - they ALL know who he is.

Is? Was.
