Expecting twins, a male and a female and I'm liking the names Ava and Ezra. What do you think? Is the ending in 'a' for both of them too cliche?

Ezra is great but Ava is just awful!

How about Ivy and Ezra?

Why exactly do you think Ava is awful? Just out of curiosity

Talking as someone who had twins and took 5 days after they were born to decide on names...
I am not keen on the combination I am afraid. The names sound too similar if you know what I meant but not in a complimentary way. Choose the one you like the most and then something else for the other baby. But feel free to ignore!

I think it is boring, common and overdone...sorry! Ezra is gorgeous though!

I love them both Smile
Congratulations btw, my DP is jealous, he'd love twins!

How about corinne for the girl(pronounced corin)?
Or Effie?

Love both names OP! If dc2 is a boy then definitely is on the shortlist!

Both nice. If you like them then use them take no notice of what other people think. X

I like your original suggestions. Lovely names

I prefer Corinne.
Definitely wouldn't go for the same "a" ending - it's just too similar when you are calling them down from their rooms, etc., when they are oldeer. They will be lumped as 'the Twins' often enough, start off by giving them their own, individual, non-matchy names would be my thinking.

I'm biased as I have twins and one of those names... I think they are great and not too similar!
I wouldn't worry about them being similar. They're only going to be 'the twins' for a short space of time. In adult life no one even knows you're a twin, at work for example.

I like Ava. It's pretty. Not keen on Ezra. It feels a bit stuffy to me.

I would say Ava is a pretty name and far from awful but is massively overused and boring compared to Ezra. I like Ezra, would look for a similarly interesting girls name if I were you!

Ava is pretty but I seem to know loads of them and that is made it a bit of a bit unremarkable to me.

Ezra is a hillbilly who lives in Deliverance.

Ezra is a great name. Ava is a little over-used, as othets have said. They do sound good together though. Congratulations

Ezra is adorable ('Pretty Little Liars' anyone?) and if I manage to get PG again and have a boy, I may steal it Wink!!

Like Corinne or Effie ('Hunger Games' anyone?), but not so sure on Ava. I love it on it's own, but I agree that having twin names both with the 'a' on the end would be a bit much.

Having said that, I don't know why I think it would be too much... Blush

They are a little bit similar but as has been said up thread they wont be 'the twins' forever. You could always give them very different middle names.
