....names such as Len & Frederick (nn Freddie) then what other names would I like?

I love very traditional names such as Oliver, George, James etc but we have a very common surname so the traditionals end up sounding a bit boring.

please help with some suggestions.. also please let me know your preference on Len or Freddie??

I love Len, as a nn for Leonard. Not wild about Frederick/Freddie.
How about
Gregory
Albert
Wilfred
Dominic
Francis (Frank)
Peter
Victor
Quentin?

I've got a Frederick, nn Freddie, so that is my favourite! His middle name is Joseph.

I also like Alfred and Wilfred, which could still be nn Freddie.

We are really struggling with a boy's name for #2, but have considered:
Arthur
James
Marcus
Lawrence
Archie (but not keen on Archibald)

Sidney (Sid for short)
Alfred could also be Freddie
Timothy (Tim)
Harold
Carl

Really like Ernest, nn Ernie and also Jem, but don't know what it could be short for.

Report
soontobeslendergirl · 17/02/2014 21:35

Jem is usually short for Jeremy but could also be Jeremiah I think.

You don't meet many Jeremys any more but it actually has a nice ring to it. In Scotland traditionally it would be shortened to Jeemie.
