Love both Hamish and Hector and can't decide between them. Which do you prefer?

Hamish.

I dislike Hector. It sounds harsh, whereas Hamish is much softer & friendlier.

Hamish, on the basis that a 'Hector' is a term meaning a bully, after the Greek of that name. Or at least, person that features in Greek mythology. I think he was Greek but he might have been Trojan or something.

Gosh, no contest.

Hamish.

ANYTHING is better than Hector. Seriously. Anything.

So Hamish it is.

Hector!
And he wasn't a bully. He was a Trojan; and he was a lovely man. Courageous, compassionate, lovely to his wife...

EmmaTeapots Wed 05-Feb-14 07:16:39

Hamish

EugenesAxe Wed 05-Feb-14 07:52:03

JackA - yeah you're right he was Trojan. It still means bully though; second definition. They also added in 'braggart'.

Hector. I am related to one so can't use it but it is a brilliant name.

pygmy Wed 05-Feb-14 08:09:56

Hector; but I don't want it to become popular, so go with Hamish smile

Oh dear, is Hamish trendy? I have a Hamish.

Hector is cute too, but as a previous poster said, Hamish is softer sounding.

Aboyandabunny Wed 05-Feb-14 08:33:05

Both are fabulous, I would struggle to pick between them too.

Felyne Wed 05-Feb-14 08:39:39

Hamish gets my vote.

diddl Wed 05-Feb-14 08:41:07
