Name for potential DD3?

HandragsNGladbags · 30/01/2014 20:58

We have 2 DD's, Amelia and Claudia. I didn't notice they both ended with -ia until I was about 6 weeks post partum!

We need another name but many of the ones we agree on have already been taken by friends and family for example

Hannah
Rebecca
Sadie

I like Philippa (Pippa), Josephine (Josie), Phoebe, Verity and Madeleine

DH likes Eleanor. That's it.

We don't want something that ends -ia as it will sound matchy I think? But I am running out of ideas for DH who keeps saying we have ages.

We do, I'm only 27 weeks, but he does seem rather relaxed Smile

Any ideas on names I haven't thought of?

My favourite is Eleanor. But i like all of your suggestions, especially Madeleine.

Alice
Charlotte
Gabrielle

DH wont go for Madeleine because he says he can only associate it with Madeleine McCann. Which I think is bonkers.

I wanted Alice for DD1 but DH wouldn't be persuaded.
We have a Charlotte in the family but thank you.

I shan't tell him I have a vote for Eleanor just yet Wink

I like Madeline best of those ones but do understand the association. How about Gabriella, Heidi, Orla, Anya, Catherine, Sophie or Natasha?

DH doesn't like Meredith (which I love).

I had forgotten I had Catherine on my list too thank you!

What about Cecily?

Cecilia? She's the patron saint of musicians. Works well with your other DDs' names :)

I'm not religious, btw, I just happen to know.

That's interesting about Cecelia, DH is a muso.

Really like Rachel, Violet, Leonora. We know a Matilada and a Martha so couldn't use them.

ToffeeJungle you have managed to list virtually every name me and DH have discussed for the last two DC. Were you there?! Grin

I love Eleanor. Strong and elegant - you don't have to shorten it to Ellie.

Of your other names I like Verity best.

Pippa is OK but I had a childhood friend who's rabbit was called Pippa and I can't disassociate the name from that funny twitchy-nose way that rabbits breathe...but obviously that's just me!

Phoebe is OK as is Josie but Jospehine and Madeline are too longwinded and frilly imo.

Ursula, Thea, Anita, Lucy, Libby, Eliza, Esmé, Imogen, Erin, Lillian, Elsa???

Hearing those two names together reminded me of hearing them together before....... Afraid it was Grant Bovey's daughters - the third one is called Lily. Any good? All lovely names though. Good luck.
