Very early 2010s - I know so many Mia, Amelia, Amelie, Grace, Gracie's.

All I can think of is Princess Mia from The Princess Diaries grin

Nice. Sweet. Pretty. smile

It's great for going incognito. She'll blend in with all the other Mia Graces.

It is nice and I'm glad they haven't felt pressure to go all Royal. I guess it stems back to Princess Anne not wanting her children to have titles and to be able to live relatively normal lives (compared to beatrice and eugine for example who are more in the spot light as Princesses). I can imagine Zara has a similar mindset to Anne.

Its not very "nth in line to the throne" but its ok. A bit well used for me but if they like it, they like it.

I always liked Zara and Princess Anne too. That little girls gonna grow up strong!

Mia is Greek for One ...

Bit disappointed surprised. Very popular name.

thegreylady Thu 23-Jan-14 15:15:05

Lovely if a bit 'ordinary'

chickydoo Thu 23-Jan-14 15:16:10

Not my cup of earl grey

ExcuseTypos Thu 23-Jan-14 15:18:17

Love it!

Just what this little girl needs. A nice, normal name which will let her blend in.

I like it, not all that original but maybe that's what they wanted?
Love the laid back announcement as well

Lottystar Thu 23-Jan-14 15:27:57

I don't like it, just not my taste as very popular. Good for them for going for what they wanted rather than do the royal 'traditional' thing.

looki Thu 23-Jan-14 15:33:23

Did I read its a mix of Mi (Mike) and a (Zara). I'll be honest and say I don't like it.

OhCaptainDarling Thu 23-Jan-14 16:23:19

Not a huge fan, but it's a perfectly pleasant name.

Also like the fact they haven't gone for lots of middle names, it's not fussy just like Zara and Mike - normal people despite having assess to granny's bling

newyearhere Thu 23-Jan-14 16:37:24

I like it.

Sundaedelight Thu 23-Jan-14 16:46:55

Very dull and a bit meh.

curlew Thu 23-Jan-14 16:51:40

How on earth can a name be "dull" or "boring"?

Mim78 Thu 23-Jan-14 16:53:51

It's a very normal name I agree - certainly won't be the only one in her class!

I am a bit tired of hearing the name Grace - it's so popular - but it is clearly not up to me what names other people choose!

HowAboutNo Thu 23-Jan-14 16:54:28

I'm not surprised. They are not conventional, and he is not royal, so a more modern and popular choice was always on the cards. Good on them, bet she's a cutie.

Mim78 Thu 23-Jan-14 16:54:43

Much better than Savannah anyway!

squoosh Thu 23-Jan-14 16:56:19

I can't even imagine the Queen uttering the name 'Savannah'.

Mim78 Thu 23-Jan-14 16:58:10

It is the name of Peter Philips' daughter - always strikes me as really odd for the Royal Family but each to their own...
