DS is 12 days old, and doesn't have a proper name yet... DP is Indian I'm English, we've decided DS is to have an Indian (Hindu) name but I can't settle on any! His 'pet' name is Pip, and always will be to me but the boy needs a name!
Has to be by tomorrow as we need his birth certificate for some official documentation.
I'd like a name which is easy to spell/ pronounce as we live in the uk and may be moving to nz in the future.

So far the short list is:

Krishna
Nikhil
Sachin
Aaryan

Opinions please mners Grin

Krishna or Sachin.

Krishna comes from Harry Krishna, right? At least here where I live, those associations would be there. I think it's a reallycool name and this is my first preference.

Sachin I have no clue of the origin but looks and sounds nicer than the other two.

Is Krishna a unisex name? My husband's aunt is called Krishna so it's more of a female name for me (although I know it comes from Lord Krishna in Hinduism - and it's Hare Krishna, not Harry Krishna).

For me, tbh, Krishna is too much of a religious name. Aaryan is tricky because of the Aryan connotations.

But seriously, if you're registering tomorrow and don't have a clue, I'm worried you're going to regret whatever you choose.

Niven?

sachin is famous cricketer ..so would work in nz as well as they also play cricket, nikhil ok but wouldn't go for either of others ...
Pip generally nn for Philip but can be for Percy or piper or pippin too!

I was thinking the same about Aaryan - too close to Aryan for my liking.

I think Nikhil is great. But if none are a favorite, I would poke around some more name lists and see if something 'fits'. You don't want to change your mind later.

Maybe see if there are any nice names linked to his nakshara? Might be fun even if the names are not to your taste!

I like Krishna and Nikhil from your list.

DP likes Aadi...
I do too, but it makes me think of Dev's son on coronation street! Am I being silly?
