Shortlist is as follows:

but i'm feeling like 'the name' isn't on there yet iykwim. Any suggestions?

I'm 30wks pg with DD2...names starting with 'm' ruled out as that's DD1 is Melody. So something that 'goes' with Melody would be nice too.

Fire away!

Tessa is lovely. I have a friend called Tessi and it's a brilliant name. Not short for anything either.

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams Mon 18-Nov-13 21:25:47

Melody and Flora

Am biased but I have a 10yr old Sadie and she suited it as baby, toddler, child and now the omgness of the teenage years approach and I still think it's pretty cool x however, Stella was also on my list!

Clover? Gypsy?

I don't think any of them go phonetically with Melody. Too many l's and d's.

Love them all, Claudia and Sadie were on our shortlist but we decided on Scarlett for our dd.

I think you've hit the nail on the head Caip - toddler Sadie I can see, teenager Sadie I can see and grown up Sadie I can's just the baby bit. But I do think it's a cool name.

Not sure how I feel about Valda but props for coming up with a name I've never heard of before and I've looked in ALL the books

RubySparks Mon 18-Nov-13 18:53:15

Here is a name I will never be able to use but wish I had heard it years ago when naming DD. I would so love to have known about it then....

I think I really like Sadie, it's on my list. I struggle to picture baby Sadie and think some people might at first think it's awful but I think it's a great name for a toddler up and have images of a cute little Sadie in wellies running round in the garden!

Dawn - Drat!sad

I think Tessa is often short for Theresa.

Tasha? (Natasha)

I've yet to meet a little Claudia myself.

I love Tessa as well. I even accidentally called my DD Tessa one day by accident. Not sure why it popped out. I think she would have suited the name!

Calypso (though perhaps too music-related)

Allegra would be beautiful

drinkyourmilk Mon 18-Nov-13 15:17:31

Lorna? Grace?

floatyflo Mon 18-Nov-13 15:14:08

Same here. I would have to give her Cecilia/Celia as a full name, just so I could call her Cece. That way at least she would have a more 'grown up' option ifyswim.

DawnOfTheDee Mon 18-Nov-13 14:37:51

Thank you DinkyMole - you make it exactly eleventymillion people who have suggested Harmony to me. Argh! wink

I like Cece as a nn too loads more than Cecilia actually but i'm not keen on nn's on the birth certificate.

DinkyMole Mon 18-Nov-13 14:20:06

Harmony of course wink

floatyflo Mon 18-Nov-13 14:17:04

Out of those I like Claudia the best.
Sadie is Ok.
Stella reminds me of the lager!

Love Cecilia, especially nn'ed to Cece. Lovely.

DawnOfTheDee Mon 18-Nov-13 14:12:26

Like Cecilia smile

Is Tessa short for something?
