Not sure about OH's choice of middle name...

Me and my boyfriend have already chosen names for both sexes..we won't find our what it is until after Christmas but we're hoping for a girl!
For a girl, we've chosen Scarlett Ruby which I love! But for a boy, my boyfriend wants Oliver Boaz. I don't mind Oliver but I'm not sure about Boaz. This name means a lot to hI'm as its one of his ancestors but will other people react well to this name?
HELP! Confused

I like Oliver Boaz better than Scarlett Ruby which says Red Red to me. I quite like Boaz.

Boaz is cool for a middle name.

It's not like the child will ever be called that.

It's growing on me the more I hear it. I've never heard it before so just wondering how people will react to it!

I honestly wouldn't worry. Middle names are rarely used (I guess most people would just call you Boo, not Boo The Smile and an unusual middle name will give Oliver more scope if he wants to use it when he is older. HTH

The boys name is fine, Scarlett and Ruby are nice enough but a bit odd to have both together

The only reason Scarlett and Ruby are together is because they're both favourite names of me and my boyfriends..we couldn't decide on one or the other haha!

I quite like Scarlet Ruby!

Boaz is a cool mn, a little out there as first name but cool as a mn, and I think it goes well with Oliver.

Isn't Boaz something to do with Freemasons?

As first name and middle name Scarlett and Ruby are not so bad. If they were hyphenated it would sound mad.
Oliver is lovely, Boaz isn't to my taste but middle names are rarely used anyway.

I think boaz is a great name and would consider it as a middle name myself if my husband would let me. It is a strong name and the story in the bible that he appears in is one of my favourites Smile

I prefer Boaz to Oliver to be honest - it's a bit different and great if it is a family name! Oliver is extremely popular.

Scarlett and Ruby are both nice, though together seem a bit odd.

Boaz is a biblical name, from the book of Ruth, so it doesn't sound that wacky to me. I like it. Plus nobody will ever hear it - I can't remember the last time someone used my sons' middle names.

I'd use it as the first name. But I like unusual names. Grin

I think Boaz is cool. Even if you don't like it it doesn't really matter, middle names are totally irrelevant apart form the one time every 5 years someone asks 'Do you have a middle name?'

Thankyou all for you thoughts! I don't think I'm brave enough to use Boaz as a first name but people have been really positive towards it so I'll stick with it :)
As to Scarlett Ruby, our other choice is Isabella Ruby but this doesn't have the same ring to it for me. I might have to wait until he/she is born to see what they look like :)

Isabella Ruby is a beautiful name. I love Boaz too.
