Don't be daft woman!

InTheRedCorner Mon 07-Oct-13 22:49:22

Great name.

NN Bod?

TooTryHard Mon 07-Oct-13 22:52:33

No! Stick with Rufus. Rufus is fab.

It was Patrick Swayze in Point Break I think, so it'll always remind of a bank robbing, slightly ageing surfer.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff Mon 07-Oct-13 22:52:54

Gah

TooTryHard Mon 07-Oct-13 22:53:09

It is cool though......

MrsCakesPremonition Mon 07-Oct-13 22:54:04

DBro to little Doyle.

meditrina Mon 07-Oct-13 22:54:48

Are you Buddhist?

CressidaMontgomery Mon 07-Oct-13 22:55:13

It's not cool - it's silly.

Here are some cool names - one of which might belong to my own DS

Sonny
Teddy

Actually I only appear to like two boys names shock

sonlypuppyfat Mon 07-Oct-13 22:58:58

Yes I thought Point Break I think Patrick Swayze just about got away with it in a film seems like people on here think, whats the stupidest name I can saddle a child with.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff Mon 07-Oct-13 23:13:35

That's nice of you Sonly hmm

some people might say Teddy is a pretty stupid name too.

I happen to like it,but there are plenty who don't,that's how the world works isn't it?

Rosencrantz Mon 07-Oct-13 23:15:07

I love it! Very new agey and underused. More popular in America I think!

tethersend Mon 07-Oct-13 23:15:53

Is it pronounced Bowdi or Bodi?

Because I could grow to like the former, but the latter is a lifetime of being called Body.

nevergoogle Mon 07-Oct-13 23:17:15

Brodie is better.

sonlypuppyfat Mon 07-Oct-13 23:18:19

Brodie? Wasn't he in Jaws? Its all about the sea this.

justanuthermanicmumsday Mon 07-Oct-13 23:20:12

Never heard of it does it mean anything, origins etc?

It reminded me of dhodi al fayed

UpTheFRIGGinDuff Mon 07-Oct-13 23:20:36

I thought it might grow on me.... T'isnt.

nevergoogle Mon 07-Oct-13 23:21:15

I think it's a scottish name Sonly, nothing to do with the sea.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff Mon 07-Oct-13 23:22:53

Yes it has a story and a meaning,
Buddha sits under the Bodhi tree, reaches enlightenment, yadda yadda yadda....

It's a DP suggestion.

DuchessofKirkcaldy Mon 07-Oct-13 23:23:00

I know a little boy called Bodhi. He is lovely.

tethersend Mon 07-Oct-13 23:26:37

I need to know now... Is it Bowdi or Bodi?

CressidaMontgomery Mon 07-Oct-13 23:28:06

Teddy is a wonderful name!

Bohdi is plain try hard and just a bit silly

Mind you, these are all just opinions but its not a name - more saddling a child with something odd for the sake of it

NandH Mon 07-Oct-13 23:29:54

I walk a dog called bodhi, he is lovely.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff Mon 07-Oct-13 23:33:01

Bow-di

sonlypuppyfat Mon 07-Oct-13 23:33:08

Teddy is a wonderful name ... for a small stuffed bear
