Prepared for a flaming. Grin

We're thinking of this as a middle name and both have heritage from countries where it's a recognised name.

I quite like unusual names. But to me August is more of a girls name. Not sure why.

Augustus?

Why not? Especially as a nod to heritage/family or friends etc.

I'd go for it. It still sounds a bit feminine to me, but with a strong first name it'll be great.

I know a girl called August.

It's a name for a girl IMO, but it's a middle name, so will never be used/heard again after the christening!

August and Augustus are definately masculine names!

The female form is Augusta.

I think August is a great, strong name.

Definitely a boy's name and a brilliant one at that!

It can be a boy's name, and is fairly well known as one. There's a book in the bestsellercharts at the moment called wonder where the male lead character is called August, known as auggie for short. I like it.

This is not negative as anticipated. Hmm. Might go and ask about Sam or Oliver and see if thet get ripped to shreds instead!

I love it but thought it might be too 'out there'. We might cave and use Leo instead but I think August is great and prefer it.
